Thoughts on the Psalms
Thursday September 19, 2024
The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved. The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people. Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.
(Psalms 99:1-3 KJV)

Remember that whatever situations we find in our lives God is still in control. He knows what's going on even before we do. And for those who believe and trust in Him we know that all things will work together for good. Even if it doesn't always look or feel that way.

Wednesday September 18, 2024
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

Just a thought: No matter who you are, where you are, or even what you are facing in life at this moment. God sees, knows, loves and cares for you. Praise God we are never truly alone!

This will be the last post from my husband and myself on the Oakley Website! My husband retired permanently in July from being pastor of Oakley Church. His health is not good and he felt he needed to step down and let someone else take care of the flock. It was a very hard decision to make but we are happy to introduce you to the new pastor and wife of the Oakley Church the Rev. James Young and his wife Nancy. This picture is not a recent picture since this picture Nancy has been on an incredible journey of loosing a very significant amount of weight. We are so proud of her.

Here are a few more pictures of our VBS! Our theme was Radical Paul! We learned about Paul’s conversion on the road to Damascus. His time in jail with Silas, his trip to Athens and his time he was shipwrecked on the island of Malta. We learned the memory verse Philippians 4:11b&13 that we should be content in whatever circumstance we are in and we can do this because HE gives us strength.
