πͺ£ Whatβs in Your Bucket? π§
The woman at the well (John 4) carried a heavy, invisible bucket. Every time she went to town, people added to it: whispers of her past, judgment, shame, and labels. She was trying to fill it with relationships and approval, but it kept leaking, leaving her dry and exhausted.
Do we still do this today?
Oh yes, we do.
β On Social Media: People drop "buckets" filled with FOMO (fear of missing out), curated perfection, and comparison.
β Face-to-Face: We add buckets with gossip, unrealistic expectations, and judgments on people's lives.
But look at what Jesus did. He didn't come to add to her bucketβHe came to tell her to drop it.
He offered her "Living Water"βa well inside her that never runs dry. He replaced her shame with purpose.
β¨ The Takeaway: Stop letting the world put things in your bucket, and stop trying to fill your own. Come to Jesus to be filled, and leave your bucket at the well!
π Bible Verse:
"....But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." β John 4:14 (KJV)
πOur Prayer: "Lord, may we think before we speak or post on social media or have a conversation face to face. Never let us do anything that will put a weight in someone else's bucket. Us as Christians are to uplift each other not weigh others down. Lord, help us see our words and actions do matter and have lasting impacts on others. Amen!"
