United Parish of Elkton

United Parish of Elkton We are a diverse group, from various backgrounds, who find our unity in the Gospel rather than in human thought.

We are affiliated with both the United Church of Christ and the United Methodist Church. Our members come from those and other denominations and we function like a community church - open, just as Christ's invitation is, to all.

We just want to take a minute and thank EVERYONE who helped make our annual campership rummage sale a HUGE success.... when we opened the door on Thursday it reminded us of Black Friday....and we loved it...we had so many generous customers....so much wonderful help ( and so much good food for the help)and we enjoyed seeing everyone. . And all that was left over has went to other places to continue to bless those in need. Til next year...we thank you all with our whole heart.

Thank you, thank you THANK YOU…, to everyone who stayed after church and coffee this morning and helped take all the chairs out of the fellowship room… Line all the tables up ….haul stuff in from the garage… You have no idea how much we appreciated that… We are blessed beyond measure with willing people… I didn’t get a picture of the youth group c crew that did so much earlier , but then later on when we had the some of the football team come to help us haul stuff out of storage units. We did take a picture of them… They were all very helpful and we appreciated it so much… They unloaded two-storage sheds and garage in less than an hour… Even though one of the boys told me it felt like a lifetime… šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£. And the best we could do for them was give them brownies and ice cream sundaes… we already thanked God for all of you, but we wanted to take a minute to thank you as well ļæ¼

This is a just a little PSA for members of the United Parish Church. We will start getting ready for our annual Campership rummage sale on Monday, June 1...probably about 9am. We hope to work both Monday and Tuesday and have it all ready to go so we can take off the day of Wednesday and then be ready to open the doors at noon on Thursday, June 4th....SOOOOO....if you have any desire to open boxes, arrange items on tables, hang up oodles of clothing and " all other related duties" please join us. Whatever time of day fits your schedule works for us. It is a fun time and many hands make for light work. Also, if you want to help during the actual sale, those hours are noon to 7 pm on June 4th and 5th and 8am until noon on Saturday. During those times it is mainly straightening and restocking the tables as room is available etc..... . And we always need extra help on Saturday around noon after the doors close ...packing up all that is left....that all is donated to other places to benefit other groups... and then resetting the dining room back to normal. Normally with a lot of volunteers we are done on Saturday around 2-2:30. We love to have the kids help as well....esp. those who have benefited from going to camp....if they want to bring a friend to help them...we are happy about that also. So I hope one of these days works for you....we can't wait to get started. Any questions contact Susan, Nancy or Linda.
