United Parish of Elkton We are a diverse group, from various backgrounds, who find our unity in the Gospel rather than in human thought.

We are affiliated with both the United Church of Christ and the United Methodist Church. Our members come from those and other denominations and we function like a community church - open, just as Christ's invitation is, to all.

Two of our very own, had acting parts in the play the Wizard of Oz at the PAC center at SDSU. It was an outstanding production, rivaling the original in many way. Adam Nash had multiple roles, including the mayor of Munchkinville and several ensemble pieces, while Bree also participated in several ensembles. They will be performing again next week, on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so if you haven’t attended yet, you certainly won’t want to miss it. Show your support for our hometown stars.

Thank you to all the lovely ladies from our local churches who joined us at the United Parish last evening for our salad supper… We carried on with the theme of our 250th birthday of the United States with our decorations… We had a huge assortment of delicious salad, etc. short program and several door prizes. We hope everyone enjoyed the evening as much as we did… And a special thank you to those from the United Parish who stayed to help clean up.  also a big heart fell thank you to everyone
who @ helped fill our shopping cart up with groceries for our local food pantry.

I want to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Luigi Thompson… (Maddie) Luigi was a special member of our church for many years until he graduated from college and joined the Navy… He is now stationed in Hawaii and his bride is also stationed in the Navy in Hawaii, but they happen to be on ships that are opposite so when one is at see the other ones on land… His lovely bride came from a military family so she doesn’t claim any place as home . They have been in town for a few days on their honeymoon visiting Jan and Nieema Thasing where Luigi lived for many years…

Another great turnout to help clean corn for our annual ham supper… This year we had a great new little gadget that took the corn off the cob in a nanosecond… Many thanks to Ashley for bringing that… Our ham supper is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30 from 5 to 7 PM… And many thanks to all our great helpers, especially our crew that goes out early in the morning to pick the corn…

Hey, United Parish people… If you have a little free time about 8 am on Wednesday ( Aug5) morning… Like maybe an hour to an hour and a half… RAISE YOUR HAND . We have received word that the corn is ready for us to freeze for our ham supper…… Some texts have been sent out, but I haven’t received much confirmation on people who are willing to pick corn… So if that’s something you would be able to help …it will be appreciated more than you know… Just let Linda know if you are able to pick … ( So that she can stop worrying 🤣🤣)And you know there will be treats and coffee and lemonade waiting for you back at the church…

Where else would you find palm trees hanging from the ceiling except at the Elkton United Parish Church on tropical Sunday… It was a perfect morning to worship outside and then we’ve ventured inside to enjoy a tropical atmosphere…, wonderful brunch and our very special tiki hut that makes “tropically refreshing “beverages.
