First Baptist Church of Elkton We glorify God, proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, and edifying His people. Our Charter under Maryland Law was issued November 22, 1950.

From the humble beginning as a Bible study at 172 East Main Street in 1947, First Baptist Church was established in January 1949. Ground breaking for the Sanctuary at our present location was held July 12, 1959. Today, we are cooperating members of the Susquehanna Baptist Association and the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware. We support over 10,000 home and foreign missionaries throughout Am

erica and around the world. First Baptist Church continues in its ministry to Elkton as a member of the Greater Elkton Ministerial Association. With sister churches, we carry out the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

What if the money, house, and possessions you call "yours" don't actually belong to you at all? 🏡🏠

Most of us know intellectually that God is the Creator. Yet when it comes to our bank accounts, property, and daily purchases, we naturally default to an "owner" mindset—making decisions based on our own desires rather than seeking the Owner's will.
Biblical stewardship rests on a simple three-part foundation:

1. God owns everything because He created it out of His own materials.

2. God owns believers twice—first because He made us, and second because He redeemed us through Christ.

3. We own nothing. We are managers (stewards) entrusted to care for another’s property.

Real stewardship isn't just about what you give away in the offering plate—it's about how you manage everything you have left over according to God’s heart.

Most Christians have heard about the Armor of God. We know the names: the belt of truth, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation. But how often do we stop to consider why Paul wrote about spiritual armor in the first place?

The truth is, the Armor of God isn't just a memorable illustration. It's a call to prepare for a very real spiritual battle.

In Ephesians 6, Paul reminds us that our greatest struggles aren't ultimately against people or circumstances. They are part of a spiritual conflict that requires God's strength, not our own. That's why he urges believers to "put on the full armor of God" so we can stand firm when trials, temptations, and the enemy's schemes come our way.

Each piece of armor has a purpose. Truth guards us against deception. Righteousness protects our hearts. Faith extinguishes the enemy's attacks. God's Word equips us to stand against lies. And prayer keeps us connected to the One who fights for us.

What many people don't realize is that Paul's description didn't begin with him. The imagery stretches back into the Old Testament, especially the book of Isaiah, where God Himself is pictured as the divine Warrior fighting for His people. Paul's words remind us that the same God who defended Israel still equips His people today.

No believer is expected to face spiritual battles alone or in their own strength. God has already provided everything we need to stand firm.
