“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 KJV
Notice the verse doesn’t say, “Ignore your sin.” It doesn’t say, “Excuse your sin.” It says CONFESS your sin 🔥
Unrighteousness is anything that violates God’s standards. We see this in our actions, words, attitudes, and even our thoughts. Gossip, lying, pride, lust, bitterness, unforgiveness, adultery, hatred, jealousy, and the list goes on. Sin is sin, and it separates us from God.
Why are we so quick to justify what God calls sin? Why are we so hesitant to humble ourselves, repent, and ask for forgiveness?
The greatest danger is not struggling with sin. The greatest danger is becoming COMFORTABLE with it.
God’s grace is not a license to continue in sin. His grace is the invitation to repent, be forgiven, and be CHANGED.
If we fall, we don’t make excuses, we confess it. If we have wandered, we don’t stay there, we return to Him.
A heart that refuses repentance is a heart in danger. But a heart that humbles itself before God will find mercy EVERY time.
Repentance is not weakness, it is obedience ✝️
