Today, we focus on two big questions: How do we press on together? AND What does it take to live well as a community? Being of the “same mind” doesn’t mean the same thoughts, but the same goals. It means that love always trumps prejudice. It means that sacrifice always wins over selfishness. It means giving always triumphs over hoarding. How we go about becoming more like Christ, having that mind of Christ, may be different, as each of us is different. But we all seek the same Christ, the same kingdom, the same hope. This is what being “in full accord” means.

We begin our “Pressing On” series. Are you feeling life pressing in all around you? The global events, the local concerns, the too-full schedules, the sudden surprises? Are you staring at your calendar, social media feed, or news app, wondering how we’ll all get through this? We get overwhelmed with changes, overrun with failures, overruled by objections. It seems as though every step is an uphill climb. Yet, we press on. There are tasks to perform and goals to reach; there are people to lead and a kingdom to build. Though they weren’t facing stressors like 24-hour news alerts, the uncertainties of AI, and a constantly fluctuating economy, Paul and the Philippians were not strangers to stress, worry, and the struggle to live faithfully amid it all. So, consider this an invitation over the next four weeks to stop, take a breath, and mine Paul’s wisdom for pressing on toward Christ as we move through the struggle together.

Today, we conclude our “Lessons in Leadership” series. Today, we turn our attention to the transformative power of leading with grace and the ongoing work of reconciliation. Grace is not permissiveness, nor is it avoidance. Grace is the courage to forgive, the wisdom to set healthy boundaries, and the willingness to let God’s mercy reshape our relationships. Worship gives us a safe place to lament our hurts, extend forgiveness, and discern our next right steps together.

We continue with “Lessons in Leadership” and address the uncomfortable but unavoidable reality of conflict as we look at Jesus' clear roadmap in Matthew 18 for faithful reconciliation. Rather than airing grievances, we will use this time to practice empathy, praying for those we experience friction with and recognizing them as fellow image-bearers of God. Ultimately, we will be reminded that we do not navigate these difficult challenges alone, finding our refuge and strength together in God's protective presence.

We continue with “Lessons in Leadership” as we focus on overcoming our natural resistance to God's call, drawing parallels between reluctant biblical leaders and our own modern hesitations. Today, we honestly acknowledge our reluctance to lead or serve which helps us actively move from resistance to acceptance. Ultimately, it encourages us to lean on God and our faith community to boldly fulfill our shared mission together.
