CROSSROADS Some days it would be nice not to have to go anywhere.

Since moving to Elko New Market in 2006 I have found I am constantly in the car driving somewhere. Whether it is to pick up groceries, go to work, or chase down the kids. Sunday mornings aren’t much different. But what if you could change that? What if you could be a part of something local, from the community and for the community? To create a place where you can be yourself, where you know your

kids are welcomed, and you would feel comfortable inviting your friends to? A place that helps you connect with God and your community. If the idea of a church like this excites you, I’d love to hear from you. I invite you to check us out and join us as we begin this new faith community. Groups are forming now as well as a team to help this dream become a reality.

God often uses the struggles we encounter in this life to forge our faith. Polycarp, a disciple of the Apostle John faced the fire and refused to renounce his faith in Christ, saying "86 years I have served him, and he has done me no wrong. How can I blaspheme my King and my Savior?" Spiritual giants don't become stronger on the easy path, their faith is refined through the faith they hold onto in the fires and struggles they encounter.

They came back with the fruit of the God's promise literally hanging from a pole, yet all they could see were the giants in the land. Not everything in our journey will be easy, but spiritual giants are formed one faithful decision at a time.

When life knocks you down, it's nice to know you have someone to help you up. A friend doesn’t need to be the strongest person to lift you up. They don’t have to have the answers. They don’t even have to share the same experience or perspective as you. But they will show up for you, hold you, walk with you through whatever trial you face. Wisdom reminds us life is better when we have someone to walk with. And when we have a friend, we have hope.
