GUESS what time of year it is?!

It’s time for our *ANNUAL* toy and clothing swap! This will make year *SIX*!

This event occurs BEFORE Black Friday to help save families money around the holidays!

How it works:

On the evening of FRIDAY November 7th, those that want to participate in the toy and clothing (children’s, matenity, women’s clothes) swap, will pay a $5 admission fee to help cover the rent of the facility.

As a reminder, for every item you bring to swap, you can take one item home. **All items MUST be washed and cleaned!!**

Then on Saturday November 8th the leftover items will be used for a yard sale as a church fundraiser. The sale will be open to the public and everything will be VERY REASONABLY priced (like $1 per item).

After the sale, everything will be donated - teachers can claim for their classrooms, leaders can take items for foster closets, Christmas Shoeboxes,etc.

Let me know by commenting below if you are planning on coming and let me know if you are bringing friends!! This event has grown so much over the years; however our family has moved to Bridgeport so I want to make sure we have enough interest before committing to this two day event!

***I would like to see at least TEN, maybe even FIFTEEN, families commit to coming to the swap as it is a big undertaking. If there is enough interest in our swap again, I will create an event with ALLLLLLLL the details you need to know to make it successful!

Hi all!!

Alright mommas, grandmamas, soon to be mommas, stepmommas, hope to someday be a momma,

We are thinking of celebrating OURSELVES in May! Considering a paint and snack date! You would bring your own canvas and paint supplies and a snack to share with the group! Then we will magically change in to artists and make a masterpiece from (?maybe Bob Ross?)🤣. I am sure we could all use a little girl time!

Weekends are a little crazy, so we are considering doing a midweek event- maybe a Wednesday or Thursday evening ?

If you bring $5 you can bring your kids and we can hire some babysitters to hang out with them! We would need a headcount of kids two weeks before the event!

Whew, what a night!

Whether it is Facebook algorithm or friends recruiting friends our swap basically doubled this year! We had over 60 friends come tonight to join in this swap!

Next year we have even bigger ((and longer)) plans and will be moving into the gym!!

Would love to see pictures of the new to you things you got for your babies! Post them below!

Thank you to all those families that donated to help cover the cost of the rent!

And even more so thank you to all the amazing people that helped set up and tear down! Literally COULD NOT have done this without you all!Seeing the classroom and foyer FILLED was overwhelming in so many ways, but these wonderful people kept me in check and promised to help clean up …Gabrielle Beech Jordan Sarah Trulik Ware Tara Dilly Morgan Hanna Christina Ratley (and entire crew of children!) Bobby Benavides Eric Dilly Questie Collins Reams Jarrah Reams Jayla Reams Ruby Grey Slaven Lora Hollen Chris Lee … I truly hope I didn’t forget anyone. You guys were absolutely wonderful and I’m so grateful for each and everyone of you. You all helped serve the community in a perfect way!

Join us!!

🎃 Our 3rd annual Trunk-or-Treat event will be happening on October 22nd, from 3:30p to 5:30p! Come down to Elkins Town Square to enjoy some fun, candy, and costumes!

We will also be accepting canned goods and other non-perishables, and donations for the Randolph County Humane Society as an “entrance fee”!

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together,… but encouraging one another…”

HIIIIIIIII MOMS!!!

I’m checking to see if any moms would be interested in our annual toy and kid’s clothing swap this year!?! We have a baby due in December so ideally this would be held IN EARLY NOVEMBER THIS YEAR.

If you are interested in participating in this event, or volunteering your time, please comment below! If there is enough interest I will get the ball rolling and create an event!

BELOW is how the swap works:

This Beautiful Life is a group of mom’s living life together one day at a time -the positives, the negatives, and everything in between when it comes to motherhood. This group of women is everything my heart desired and MORE, and hopefully we can get back to our monthly meetings sooner than later.

This event will be like CHRISTMAS SHOPPING FOR FREEEEEE for your kids!!

🌲🎅🤶🏼INVITE A FRIEND OR TWO BECAUSE THE MORE THERE IS TO SWAP, THE MORE FUN THIS EVENT WILL BE!!! 🎅🌲🤶🏼

What do you need to know?

1. Each toy or clothing set ( pants/shirts, matching hats/mittens,etc.) will be worth one point each. Please sort appropriately by gender and size. If you bring five items you get five tickets! There is no limit that you can donate!

2. Toys can be new, old, or gently used, but toys that are broken/have missing pieces or clothes that are stained/ripped will NOT be accepted.

3. All items must be washed and cleaned.

4. Please do NOT drop off items unless you are staying for the swap. In the past, this created a lot of excess and with limited volunteers is hard to clean up after the event.

5.If you do not have items to swap, you cannot participate in the event.

6.All leftover toys will be donated to a school or charity!! So if you have a recommendation, LET ME KNOW!
