Today marks an historically important day for Israel, Israelis and the Jewish people throughout the world. As Israelis head to the polls for a highly consequential election, we pray for an outcome that will advance the cause of peace and build further an Israel of equity, inclusion and possibility. We are thankful that - as the only true democracy in the Middle East - the future rests in the hands of the people. May the prospect of hope be made teal. (Rabbi David)

What a meaningful evening at our First Responders Shabbat! We are so grateful to our wonderful panelists, who shared their experiences serving our community in firefighting, healthcare, and our schools. Their stories reminded us of the courage, compassion, and dedication of those who show up for others in moments of greatest need.

A special thank you to Shir KI, our beautiful choir led by Alyssa Davidson with Irina Bakis on piano-for lifting our spirits through music and helping make the evening so powerful.

May we never take for granted those who answer the call to serve, protect, and care for others. ❤️

Miranda Soffer Celebrates her Bat Mitzvah this weekend at KI! Mazel Tov, Miranda & Family!

My name is Miranda Soffer, my Bat Mitzvah is October 24, 2026.
For my Mitzvah Project I did, Cards for a Cause: making cards for children in Israel hospitals. So far, I’ve made 210+ cards and I’m sending them out using Magen David. I also made keychains for HAMEC to raise awareness for the Holocaust.
I attend Lower Moreland Middle School. I am a competitive dancer at Elements Dance Factory. I also enjoy doing gymnastics and swimming.
My parents are Lauren and Gregg Soffer.

At our upcoming First Responders Shabbat on Friday, October 23rd, we want to recognize and offer a special blessing to the people in our KI community who are there for others in moments of crisis and need. Are you, or is someone in your family a firefighter, EMT/paramedic, police officer, emergency room physician or nurse, school or community social worker, mental health crisis professional, or other emergency responder? We would love to know! During Aleinu, we will invite our first responders to rise and be recognized as we offer a special blessing of gratitude for their service, courage, compassion, and care. Please call 215-887-8702 or email [email protected] if you are a first responder so we can honor you that evening and that you will be there! Also join us for Savor Shabbat dinner ahead of time.

Today in celebration of Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan, through our KItchen programming, Dr. Arlene Holtz and Barbara McNeil ran a fabulous retreat where we explored "King David and His Women"- learning about how to read the text to see ourselves, explore our own voices and the impact of women in Jewish text.🌒
