First Baptist Church Elkin We are learning to follow Jesus, and helping others to follow also. We are a loving and accepting community of Faith. Come join us...

Welcome to First Baptist Church. Our membership is a diverse collection of people who have lived here all their lives, some folks whose work brought them here, as well as retirees. Some are lifelong Baptists, others are transfers from a host of different Christian denominations. Some are new converts to Christianity and some are new to church life in general. We invite you to visit our church and look forward to getting to know you.

Thank you to everyone who came out for Theology on Tap last Thursday evening at The Railyard. We enjoyed listening to Sister Janis McQuade discuss the Catholic view of reconciliation over the centuries. We all learned some very fundamental differences in the Protestant and Catholic views and had open dialogue with one another in true ecumenical fashion!

There are only a few Theology on Tap meetings left before The Railyard closes for the season! Mark your calendars now for 10/22 to get in on the conversation!

TONIGHT 5:30p
The rain is gone and the sun is out! Join us tonight as we sit outside by the fire enjoying this cool fall weather and great fellowship.

We can’t wait to see you as we discuss theology and listen to Pastor Mark’s thoughts on another historic theologian. We feel smarter already! 🤓

We went down to the river on Sunday, the literal Yadkin River.

We were so honored to join in Xan, Madison and Emma’s special day.

Watch to see what happened when Pastor Mark asked each person in attendance to remember their own baptism and come forth. 💚 It was a great day to be at FBC Elkin. 🏞️ Yadkin River State Trail

This fall, CBF North Carolina is strengthening the connection between theological education and the local church through the new CBFNC Field Education Residency Program!

The inaugural cohort brings together seven divinity students who will serve alongside congregations across the state, gaining hands-on experience in worship, pastoral care, leadership, discipleship and the everyday work of ministry.

Meet our Field Education Residents:
• Kenroy Miller — Covenant Baptist Church - Gastonia, NC
• Lani McKnight — First Baptist Church Elkin
• Anjela Monica Opundo — Pritchard Church, Charlotte
• Furaha Espoir — Boiling Springs Baptist Church
• Shonda Orr — Providence Baptist Church - Charlotte, NC
• Benjamin Wright — Westwood Baptist Church, Cary
• Lara Howell — Watts Street Baptist Church, Durham

We’re grateful for these emerging leaders and the congregations helping nurture their call to ministry. We look forward to seeing how God works through this year of learning, service and shared ministry.
