Come put your hands in the soil at our Bethel Community Garden! One of our BCG gurus will be on site on Tuesday (6/23) and Thursday (6/25) from 9AM - 11AM to tend to planting and pruning and caring for the garden. All are welcome to join in. No past gardening experience is necessary. Plus, there are lots of goodies that are ready for harvesting - no charge!

One goal for our Bethel Community Garden was to make it as accessible as possible. The cost to do so – to even start the process – was just over $7,300, which is an awful lot of money for our small church. We had been praying about this endeavor and then, at the last Finance Ministry Team, we opened an envelope from a Bethel member and his wife who sent us a very generous donation to use as we need. Imagine our awe when we saw that the monetary gift was just shy of $7,300! God is good and our Bethel family is unbelievably generous.

So, friends, come see the start of the new path that has started to be laid in our Bethel Community Garden. Until you can visit in person, below are a few photos.

We are so excited to once again partner with Urban Amber Gardening to offer a Strawberry Growing Class! Pre-registration is required by June 23. Come join in on what will be a BERRY great class :-)

Our Bethel Community Garden continues to grow and grow! Here’s what’s going on right now and to come:

1. Lettuce and spinach leaves are already ready for harvesting! If you’re in our Bethel neighborhood, please stop by to grab a handful or two (or three or four 😊) of these garden-fresh goodies. If you’d like to get involved, DM us.

2. On Saturday, June 27, Bethel will host a class on strawberry potting, tending, fertilization, pots vs. ground, etc. Amber, from Urban Gardening, will lead this class. Cost will be $20 per person. Attendees can email [email protected] to register and work out electronic payment (Venmo, etc.) which must be done before the class begins.

Thanks to those who showed up to help plant and prune and prod our garden on Saturday, May 30! Every hand was a blessing. Come watch our garden grow - or better yet, feel free to dig in and get your hands dirty, as well :-)
