🌿 Sunday Reflection | SEPT 6, 2026

“Grant us, O Lord, to trust in you with all our hearts…”

Today's Collect reminds us that we don't have to rely only on our own strength. We can place our worries, our uncertainties, and the road ahead into God's hands.

We may not see the whole journey, but we can take the next step, knowing that we do not walk it alone.

May we trust God with all our hearts and have faith enough to take the next step. 💜🌿

🌿 Walk. Pray. Breathe. Be Still.

September marks the Season of Creation, a time when Christians around the world give thanks for the beauty of God's creation and reflect on our place within it.

Here at St. John in the Wilderness, there is a quiet place waiting for you.

Our outdoor labyrinth is open to the community and offers a place to slow down, step away from the noise, and simply walk with God.

There is no right or wrong way to walk a labyrinth. Come with a prayer, a worry, a question—or nothing at all. Walk beneath the trees. Listen to the sounds around you. Notice the beauty of creation. And leave a little space for God to meet you along the way.

🌿 Come walk in the Wilderness.

💜 Thank You, Elkhorn! 💜

Thanks to the generosity of our community throughout this summer’s Music on the Garth events, we were blessed to deliver the funds raised from our concessions to the Elkhorn Area School District Angel Lunch Program.

As a new school year begins, we hope this gift helps make the year a little brighter for local children and families.

To everyone who joined us, gave generously, and helped make this possible...thank you!! This is God’s love in action: neighbors caring for neighbors and a community lifting up one another. 💜🌿

Elkhorn, we’re getting close to 1,000 survey responses!

More than 900 responses have already been submitted across the five surveys as part of the City’s 2050 Comprehensive Plan. We’d love your help reaching 1,000 before the surveys close on September 30.

Your input will help shape decisions about housing, transportation, development, community services, downtown, and quality of life in Elkhorn for years to come.

Choose the survey topic that matters most to you, or take all five. Every response helps us better understand the priorities, concerns, and ideas of the community.

A comprehensive plan serves as the City’s long-term guide for future growth and development. It helps establish a shared vision for Elkhorn and provides direction for future decisions related to land use, housing, transportation, infrastructure, economic development, community facilities, and other important priorities through 2050.

Thank you to everyone who has participated so far and helped make this such a strong community response.

This week’s Collect is a beautiful reminder that faith is meant to grow within us and then become visible in the way we live.

Love genuinely. Hold fast to what is right. Rejoice in hope. Be patient in difficult times. Persevere in prayer. Welcome the stranger. Share the joys and seek peace. And when confronted by what is wrong, choose what is good.

These may seem like simple things, but together they are the fruits of a life rooted in God.

May God continue to grow His love within us, so that through our words, our choices, and our actions, others may experience that love too. 💜🌿

Faith Question of the Week

Jesus calls us to love one another—but love is more than a feeling. It becomes visible in what we do.

We each have different gifts, different abilities, and different opportunities to serve. Sometimes service is something big. More often, it is found in the ordinary moments: offering encouragement, helping someone who is struggling, giving generously, listening with compassion, welcoming a stranger, or simply noticing someone who needs kindness.

Where is God giving you an opportunity to put Christ's love into action?
