The SALE is almost here. This is the most exciting week of the year. There is so much to do in a one week span. Orders need to be entered in the database and printed so they can be filled with your plants. The tent comes on Monday with a crew to put it up. On Wednesday, students from High School at GTC come to help make art and set up tables and string lights, all thanks to Kathy Simes their great teacher. Then time to fill orders. That is why it takes until Friday afternoon to allow orders to go out. We want them all perfect. We will celebrate each evening and work then work really hard each day to give you what you want and need for your Spring. It is finally a here and that is an addtional thing to celebrate. See you at the sale.

For many years St. John's Ladies Society has had an ongoing fundraiser marketing Rada Kitchen Cutlery and we are now using the internet to help with this project. The knives are made in the USA and carry a replacement guarantee if any item is returned due to defects in materials or workmanship. The Rada knives are wonderfully sharp and remarkable for holding their edge, yet they sell at an extremely reasonable price. You really do have to use one to understand what an exceptional product it is. Visit our web page at www.stjohnepiscopal.org for the link to our fundraiser. The Rada knives are great for gifts or personal use, and you will enjoy the ease of being able to order on line.

One of my favorite “church” books as I was growing up was one titled “O Ye Jigs & Juleps!” written by 10 year old Virginia Cary Hudson at the turn of the century. She was the daughter of an Episcopal priest who was attending an Episcopal boarding school at the time and wrote a collecting of “essays” for her teacher. These were found in an attic trunk many years later and the collection became a classic. I thought I would share some of her insights into religion in general and the Episcopal faith in particularl as I make Sunday postings. So here is her first observation:
Everlasting Life: “God gives it to you and you can’t get rid of it….When you take it to Heaven with you that’s good, but when you have to take it along with you to Hell, that’s different.”

What a great picture of Tombstone, Arizona. It's so funny to see the Easter Bunny standing on the street with cowboys outside the OK Corral!
Join us for our Easter Egg Hunt after 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday. If we are lucky, maybe we will catch sight of the Easter Bunny in Elkhorn! All are welcome.
