Deep Faith Conference: Anabaptist Faith Formation for All Ages Deep Faith is the annual gathering of Mennonite Church USA faith formation leaders.

The purpose of this conference is to promote deep faith by embracing faith formation as practical theology. Practical because it is about the lived faith of Christian individuals in communities, theological because it is a faith intentionally oriented around the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who provides a pattern for belief, discipleship, and identity in Christ. The conference wi

ll empower pastors, teachers, and lay leaders in the church to develop and express a robust understanding of life with Jesus. Jesus calls us to a life-long journey, which will be shaped in part by our age and our stage in life, but also through the ways in which the Christian community embraces and nurtures people of different ages and stages, different races, ethnicities and cultures, different classes and different genders. Our faith and practices are richest and deepest when we consider both particular stages and the diversity of the community as a whole. Our keynote speakers include John Roberto, (Lifelong Faith), Rachel Miller Jacobs, (Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary), and Brian Quan, (MCEC pastor). Approximately 30 workshops will be offered within the categories of Intergenerational faith formation, Life stage faith formation (children/families/youth/young adult/adult/senior), & Culture and Faith.

Hi fans of the Deep Faith Conference! While it's been a while since this page has been active, did you know that we're hosting another Deep Faith conference in partnership with Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary 's Pastors and Leaders Conference this March 2-5, 2020?

Please consider printing a booklet for each family in your congregation or for those who request it. We know how busy young parents can be, and this would be a great way to equip parents for nurturing faith in their children.

A year ago, the closing worship of the Deep Faith conference became a personal highlight. A year later, I happened to be wearing the same clothes as FB reminded me I wore to that closing conference. This time I was on my way to lead a Bible study with Seniors in a Retirement complex. This fall, I am working with the same Bible texts on Sunday and Thursday mornings with preschoolers as with the Seniors on Tuesday nights, using Shine Curriculum with the children. It's "Digging Deeper" section helps me start preparing for the seniors. In the process, I am amazed at the things I am learning about the Early Church and the Bible's First Families. I will never again read Genesis 11 without considering Genesis 10. Faith formation blessings abound.
