The "Amen" of the Trinity

Trinity Sunday is a reminder that the story of everything begins and ends with God in all His fullness. Indeed, if the creation of the world involved all three Persons of the Trinity — which is the testimony of scripture — how much more does the re-creation of the world involve the “amen” of all three Persons of the Trinity: the Father sending His Son, the Son obeying His Father, and the Spirit empowering and infilling the Son to the glory and praise of God. What’s more, by Jesus’ death on the cross and the working of the Holy Trinity in it, three “amens” emerge from us who are trusting in Him: the “amen” of a cleansed conscience, the “amen” of acts that lead to life, and the “amen” of the joy that’s found in serving the living God in fellowship with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!
