Belmont Mennonite Church Belmont Mennonite Church is an Anabaptist Christian community located in the Hudson-Sterling neighborhood of Elkhart. We have an average attendance of 130.

The Belmont congregation originated in 1929 when a group of people from Prairie Street Mennonite Church started a Sunday school in the Hudson-Sterling addition of Elkhart. Belmont became an independent congregation in 1947. The congregation worshiped in a building located on Belmont Ave. until moving one block west into its current location on Oxford Street. This vibrant congregation, which includ

es many young families and children, represents Elkhart, Goshen, and surrounding communities and consists of people of all ages and occupations. Mandy Yoder and Phil Schmidt serve as the pastoral team.

For nurture hour this Sunday (and next), adults and high school youth are invited to attend a screening of “What Happened at Benham West: African American Stories of Community, Displacement and Hope,” a documentary about the exclusion of African Americans in the City of Elkhart, Indiana - as told through the stories of I7 local elders. The film boldly explores life in the predominantly African American neighborhood known as “the village”; segregation in the city; the clearing of Benham West; and some of the remaining elders’ hopes.

Please note the different start time for Easter Sunday. Worship will begin at 10:00 and there is no Nurture Hour.
