The print on this picture is small, so I will paste the verses below for easier reading. On Sunday, our guest Pastor did the Bible Study on these verses. At one point, he asked what they may mean to us. Personally, the words spoke to me about our new pastor. What would this say to LOG about Pastor Gifford versus our past pastors? Some remember all the back to Pastor Brill, then also Pastors Meyer, Halvorson, or Mably. Did you follow one versus another? Which one did you have the strongest relationship with? Paul's point here is that we need to follow Christ and His Word and not a man.
As we get another new shepherd, I am pretty sure things will change. He will do things differently, even though we may fight with the thought, "We've never done it that way before!" Let's try to remember these verses and know that we follow Christ and His Word! Pastor's practice might be different, but the teaching and learning of God's Word will continue just the same!
1 Corinthians 1:10-13, 17
"I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. For it has been reported to me by Chloe’s people that there is quarreling among you, my brothers. What I mean is that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” or “I follow Apollos,” or “I follow Cephas,” or “I follow Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power."

This verse is the beginning of verses that are so worthwhile to read. Here are verses 23-25 of Hebrews 10:
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
The day is still drawing near. Judgement day may be soon. We need to be prepared. So, this verse gives us several directives:
-hold fast to hope without wavering (put our hope in God, He is our strength)
-God is faithful!
-Stir up each other so we love each other and do good work
-Don't stop meeting together (meaning attending a church/Bible Studies).
-Encourage one another (life is difficult, and we need support from fellow believers)

Worship Anew - Lutheran Ministries Media

Lord Jesus, our Rock and our Salvation, You live and reign forever! Thank You for the solid foundation You provide in a world that constantly shifts beneath our feet. When troubles threaten to overwhelm us, remind us that our hope rests not in ourselves but in You alone—our living Savior who has conquered sin, death, and the grave. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.

Being outside of the cities, we have the opportunity to see stars and the Northern Lights. Pondering God's handiwork is a form of praise to the Creator. When you look up and see the beauty of His creation, think of the fact that YOU are on His mind. He knows you! He loves you! Praise be to God!
