Stanley J. Hormanski, Jr., affectionately known to many as Stan, passed away suddenly at the age of 71 on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Christiana Care, Union Hospital in Elkton, Maryland. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and all who knew and loved him.

Born on September 21, 1954, in Massachusetts, Stan was the son of the late Stanley J. Hormanski, Sr. and Christine (Maliborski) Hormanski. From an early age, he was known for his keen intellect, strong work ethic, and hands-on spirit. These qualities defined his professional life, as a Mechanic and Maintenance Technician at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, and later as an Aviation Technician and Inspector at Cecil Aero, a role he fulfilled with great skill, pride, and dedication.

Stan’s life was deeply enriched by the love of his family. He is survived by his beloved partner of 28 years, Laura Hamilton of Elkton, Maryland; his stepson, Jeremy Hamilton (Sara) of Newark, Delaware; and his cherished grandsons, Rhys and Rowan, who brought him great pride and joy. Though Stan’s heart was full of love and devotion to his family, it also carried the sorrow of the loss of his stepson, Josh Hamilton, whose memory remained a treasured part of his life story and was never forgotten.

He is also survived by his sister Mary Gallo (David) of Wilmington, DE; his brothers, Robert Hormanski (Angela) of Central Falls, RI; and John Hormanski (Lynn) of South Bethany, DE; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

Stan found great enjoyment in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. He loved boating, sailing, and hiking, and he spent countless hours splitting wood, gardening, and repairing small engines. In his earlier years, he took great pride in restoring the 1957 Chevy pickup truck that he drove for many years, a reflection of both his craftsmanship and his appreciation for hard work and tradition.

Stan’s remarkable journey was marked by steadfast dedication, loving relationships, quiet resilience, and a generous spirit. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, warmth, commitment, and strength of character by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved, and his legacy will continue to inspire them in the years ahead.

Services will be private.
