Truth for Life Daily October 6 Christ's Surprising Choice

He had married a Cush*te woman. - Numbers 12:1

Moses made a strange choice, but not as surprising as the choice of Him who is a prophet like Moses but greater than him - even our Lord Jesus! It is the wonder of angels that the love of Jesus should be set upon poor, lost, guilty men. Each believer must, when filled with a sense of Jesus' love, also be overwhelmed with astonishment that such love should be lavished on an object so utterly unworthy of it. Knowing as we do our secret guiltiness, unfaithfulness, and halfheartedness, we are dissolved in grateful admiration for the matchless freeness and sovereignty of grace.

Jesus must have found the cause of His love in His own heart; He could not have found it in us, for it is not there. Even since our conversion we have been poor, though grace has made us rich. Holy Rutherford said of himself what we must each subscribe to: "His relation to me is that I am sick, and He is the Physician of whom I stand in need. Sadly how often I play fast and loose with Christ! He binds, I loose; He builds, I tear down; I quarrel with Christ, and He agrees with me twenty times a day!"

Most tender and faithful Husband of our souls, pursue Your gracious work of conforming us to Your image, until You will present even us in our poverty to Yourself without spot or wrinkle or any such thing. Moses met with opposition because of his marriage, and both himself and his spouse were the subjects of disapproval. Can we be surprised if this empty world opposes Jesus and His church, and particularly when notorious sinners are converted? For this is always the basis of the Pharisee's objection: "This man receives sinners."1 Of course He does; after all, He did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.

ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਹਾਜਰੀ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਥੋੜਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰ ਤਾਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੋਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਸਿਰਜਨਾ ਕਰੇ। ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਣਤਰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਆ ਲਈ ਜਲਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਕਿਓੰਕੇ ਜਲਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਤੈਨੂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਪਕੜ ਤੋਂ ਬਹਾਰ ਉਠਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਬੜੀ ਹਲੀਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹ ਉਹ ਜਗਾਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਜੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਰਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮੈ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਫੁਸਫੁਸਾ ਕੇ ਮਿਠਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂ ਚੁਪ ਰਖੇ ਤਾਕੇ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਧੁਰ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸੁਣ ਸਕੇਂ। ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂ ਸਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ, ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਸੁਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਧੁਰ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਆਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਨੇਹੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਖ। ਆਪਣੀਆ ਦੁਆਵਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰਖ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਰਹ੍ਮਿਤਾਂ ਪਾਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਸੁਕ ਰਹਿ।

Truth for Life Daily October 4 We Have an Advocate

But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. - 1 John 2:1

"If anyone does sin, we have an advocate." Yes, though we sin, we have Him still. John does not say, "If anyone sins, they have forfeited their advocate," but "we have an advocate," even though we are sinners. All the sin that a believer ever did or can be allowed to commit cannot destroy his interest in the Lord Jesus Christ as his advocate. The name given here to our Lord is suggestive. "Jesus." He is the kind of advocate we need, for Jesus is the name of one whose business and delight it is to save. "You shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."1 His sweetest name implies His success.

Next, it is "Jesus Christ"--Christos, the anointed. This shows His authority to plead. Christ has a right to plead, for He is the Father's own appointed advocate and elected priest. If He were our choice He might fail, but if God has laid help on one who is mighty, we may safely place our trouble where God has laid His help. He is Christ, and therefore authorized; He is Christ, and therefore qualified, for the anointing has fitted Him fully for His work. He can plead in such a way as to move the heart of God and prevail. What words of tenderness, what sentences of persuasion will the anointed use when He stands up to plead for me!

One more aspect of His name remains: "Jesus Christ the righteous." This is not only His character but His plea. It is His character, and if the Righteous One is my advocate, then my cause is good or He would not have represented it. It is His plea, for He meets the charge of unrighteousness against me by the plea that He is righteous. He declares Himself my substitute and puts His obedience to my account. My soul, you have a friend perfectly fitted to be your advocate--He cannot but succeed; leave yourself entirely in His hands.

ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਸਤੰਬਰ 30, 2016 ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ

ਮੈਂ ਥੋੜਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਲੰਘੀ ਸਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ।

ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਨਾ ਛਡਿਆ॥ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਗੀਤ 3:4

ਜਦੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹਦੇ ਵਲ ਮੁੜਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕੀ ਮਸੀਹ ਸਾਨੂ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਦੋਂ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ? ਕੀ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਵਲ ਮੁੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲੋਂ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਕੁ ਦਰ ਦਰ ਧੱਕੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ? ਕੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ? ਕੀ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੋਹਣਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਆਲੂਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦਿਆਲੂ ਹੈ?

ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਆਓ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹਦੀ ਤਾਰੀਫ ਕਰੀਏ। ਜੇਰੂਸਲੇਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਾਜ ਬਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਹਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਾਈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਪਰੇ ਸੁੱਟੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਾਓ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਰੁਤਵਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਦਫ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਦਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਸਲੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਉਚਾ ਚੁੱਕੋ।

ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਦੰਦ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਓ। ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੂਹ ਤੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਚੌਕੀ ਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਮ। ਮੈਂ ਉਹਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੰਝੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਵਾਂਗੀ। ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਾੜੇ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਵਿਆਂਦੜ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਾਰੇ ਛੋਟਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸੋਚ ਸਕਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਅਰਾਮ ਲੱਭਣ ਲਈ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਪਿਛੇ ਜਾਵਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਾੜੇ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ? ਉਸ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਸ਼ਾਹਨਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸੀ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਨਵਾਂ ਨਿਯਮ ਬੰਨੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਿਲ ਕਦੀ ਭੀ ਮਸੀਹ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਖੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਛੱਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਨਾ ਦਿਉ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਗਲੇ ਦਾ ਕੈਂਠਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਾਜ਼ੂਬੰਦ ਬਣ ਜਾਓ।

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਗਹਿਣਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜੀ ਹੋਈ ਲਾੜੀ ਦੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਲਾੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਗਹਿਣੇ ਪਹਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਜਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ ਲਾ ਲਵੇ। ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਗੀ। ਉਸ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਦੇ ਝਰੋਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਵਸਾਂਗੀ। ਜਿਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਚਿੜੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਲ੍ਹਣੇ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਕੇ ਨਿੱਕੇ ਬਚੇ ਰੱਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਾੜੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਲੀਵ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ. ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਲਟਰ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਚਿੜੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਥੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਲਣ੍ਹਾ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗੀ। ਮੇਰੀ ਰੂਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਕਦੀ ਭੀ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਰਣਸਥਾਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਾਪਣ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਵਿਚ ਛੁਪਾਲੈ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਵਾਂਗੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਚਮਕੇਗੀ।

ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਡੋਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਬੰਨ ਲਵਾਂਗੀ ਤੇ ਕਦੀ ਨਾ ਛਡਾਂਗੀ॥
