A Labor of Love

Elk City Community Church was pioneered in 1999. Pastor Judy Timms-Yager has been a teacher and minister for her entire career. She is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Richard Yager began pastoring in California in 2010 and continued his ministry there until he married Judy in 2019. Together they continue their ministry of teaching sound doctrine from

the Word of God. In addition to our senior pastors, we have wonderful youth pastors, childrens ministers, musicians and volunteers. Our church family includes all types, old, young, rich, poor, students, professionals, laborers and stay-at-home parents. Whatever your situation, you will find that you fit here. Our church is completely focused on our local community. We are involved in community projects such as (CASA) Court Appointed Special Advocates, Great Plains Systems of Care, OUR Turning Point Coalition and (PARB) Post Adjudicated Review Board. Through the years, Elk City Community Church has been willing to assist and help others in order to address community needs. From opening a youth center, to beginning a free tutoring program, the church endeavors to improve the quaility of life in the Elk City area. As a result of active involvement in the community, we realize that it takes all of us to make a difference in the lives of others.

Have you ever played a game where you were blindfolded and you had to listen to someone else’s voice to get the other side of the room? You have to listen to their voice and trust what the way they are leading you. That’s how faith works. We can’t see what is in front of us but God is on the other side of the room guiding us to him the safest way possible. We just have to listen and trust.

The power of the blood that was shed for us gives us the ability to do this. When a negative thought comes we tell it that is has to submit to the authority of Jesus Christ! So thankful for this gift that was so freely given 🙌🏼

This was discussed at Bible Study last night....a wise member said “shouldn’t we be praying for those who do us wrong? We as Christians know the consequences of doing wrong, shouldn’t we be praying that their eyes would be open and that they would choose a better way?” That’s what LOVE does, it’s chooses the opposite of what the flesh wants. Our flesh wants to repay them for what they have done to us, but God says “vengeance is mine”.

“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”

“And all [of them] ate the same spiritual (supernaturally given) food, [Exod. 16:4, 35.]
And they all drank the same spiritual (supernaturally given) drink. For they drank from a spiritual Rock which followed them [produced by the sole power of God Himself without natural instrumentality], and the Rock was Christ. [Exod. 17:6; Num. 20:11.]”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:3-4 AMPC‬‬
This is found in the New Testament but it is talking about the Israelites in the Old Testament after they were freed from Egypt. Christ was with them! Everything in the Old Testament points to the New Covenant. Christ is our Rock and our Provision.

And they all drank the same spiritual (supernaturally given) drink. For they drank from a spiritual Rock which followed them [produced by the sole power of God Himself without natural instrumentality]

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in ALL things at ALL times, having ALL that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8
