Retirees Prayer Fellowship

Retirees Prayer Fellowship Send us your prayer requests! RPF was founded over 30 years ago by Mary McHenry. They lived by faith and God provided for their needs.

The Retirees Prayer Fellowship (RPF) exists to offer hope and comfort through literature to those in the later years of life, particularly to those who are ill and lonely or in prison and need a word of encouragement. Mary and her husband did not have children of their own but that did not stop them from impacting many young people through their creation of Joy Ranch orphanage in Virginia. As they

reached their retirement years, Mary felt that God was just not done with her yet. She started a new ministry called the Retirees Prayer Fellowship. Mary was the editor in chief of the quarterly publication The Best is Yet To Come. She was a writer and penned many poems and devotionals. Over the years, her work was collected and printed into several different books that RPF offers through their ministry. In addition to the quarterly newsletter – The Best is Yet to Come, they offer the following

Draw Me Tenderly – is intended for those who are in Hospice and their families

Out of my Heart – a book of poems and prose

To you, with Love – a book of biblical answers to many questions

Tracts – Christmas and General

Individual Poems

Mary died several years ago but her legacy lives on through the current members of the Retirees Prayer Fellowship which is still 100% volunteer operated and relies on financial support from members like you!

Lord, I'm so glad that I can have
Your presence all day ----
And when I'm tired and lonely
I can hear You softly say:

"Come nestle close beneath My wings,
No one is lonely there ---
I'll satisfy your longing soul
And hear your every prayer ---
And as a mother comforteth
The son whom she holds dear,
So I will comfort you, My child,
And keep you always near ----
And when you're tired and lonely,
And your heart no longer sings,
Come find the joy awaiting you
Underneath My wings."

Lord, when I live in my own strength
I always seen to fail,
My troubled mind is filled with doubts
And life's a dismal tale.
But when I turn to you, my Lord,
And look to You for peace
Your love then makes me whole again
And fears and anguish cease....
So show me when my tensions mount
That peace may be restored
Not by trying but by trusting
You, my living Lord.

A man visited a museum with some friends. Thinking himself and expert in evaluating art, he began criticizing the painting as soon as they entered the gallery.
Looking at what he thought was a full-length portrait he began, "The man is homely and shabbily dressed. Why did the artist select such a shoddy subject for his portrait?"
The poor man babbled on and on as his wife made her way to his side, "My dear," she whispered, "you are looking in a mirror."

How blessed we are to have a love relationship with Christ, to be able to say, "I love you , Lord."
A cartoon showed an elderly couple sitting on their front porch. The husband is saying, "Sometimes, Sarah, when I think how much you mean to me, I can hardly keep from telling you so."
We smile. But love is robbed of joy when there is no expression.
How easy to express our love to God who says to us, "I have loved thee with and everlasting love."

A little boy was telling God in his prayers what he wanted for his birthday. "Don't holler," said his brother, "God is not deaf." "I know it," said the little fellow, "but Grandma is."
