Today was an awesome day as SVBQL held our Finals Tournament for 2017-18. Congratulations to all the quizzers for your efforts in memorizing 1 & 2 Corinthians over the past year.
I, Debbie, committed a huge oversight when I failed to acknowledge the “retirement” of Rachel Mohler as a quizzing coach for CBC. Rachel has put a lot of time and effort into mentoring the CBC quizzers over several years. Personally speaking, Rachel has been a wonderful sounding board for me, and I have so appreciated her wisdom and advice over the two years that I have served as Director. Thank you, Rachel, and we are truly going to miss you.

Our league is growing, and we would love to have a couple more quizmasters for our quiz meets. Are you a former quizzer, quiz coach, quiz parent, etc. who would be willing to serve in this way? We will supply ample training under an experienced quizmaster. Quiz meets are one Sunday afternoon per month (Sept-March), and you need not be available for every quiz meet. We will just be glad for your help any day that you are available. If you are interested or you know someone who might be, please PM Debbie Spangler.

Our prayers go out to the Hatfield family and the Detroit Quiz Team. So thankful for Cindy's leadership in WBQA.
For those of you who were at the Finals in Somerset, Cindy was the Detroit Team's coach. Please remember the Cindy's family, WBQA Leadership, and the Detroit team in your prayers.

It is with deep sadness that we inform you that we have lost a champion for Bible Quizzing. On May 24th Cindy Hatfield went home to be with the Lord.

In addition to being a great mom and wife, Cindy was an ardent supporter of Bible Quizzing. Cindy served on the WBQA Executive Board as our treasurer. Cindy also played a major role in the DBQ program as well.

Please join us in praying for her husband Matt as well as her 3 children Jordan, Lydia, and Sam.

It is in times such as this that we find comfort in the fact that one day we too, as believers in Christ, will be reunited in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
