Wednesday night suppers are BACK! 🙌🏼😋 Join us each Wednesday for delicious food and wonderful fellowship!

Starting this coming Wednesday, September 9th, dinner will begin at 6pm! Dinners will be catered. There is no charge, but donations are greatly appreciated 🫶🏼

Be sure to fill out the info card Sunday morning and place it in the offering plate so we can get an estimate for catering 😊

ANNUAL LOBSTER SALE!!
The lobster pickup is Thursday, September 17 from 4 to 6 pm. It is drive-thru at the church activity building.

Tickets may be purchased at the church office, White Lake Marine boat dealership, or members of Trinity Methodist Men (including Steve Willis, Clark Valentiner, and Carl deAndrade.

Each lobster is $30 and you can choose cooked or live when you buy the tickets. Ticket must be bought on or before September 10th.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 ❤️

Paul is begging God to take this thorn from him. Something is hurting him, and he is asking God to remove it, take it away, heal him. But God says no.

Paul isn’t just casually praying about it. He’s pleading. He desperately wants God to fix it. But God gives him a different answer:

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

God was telling Paul, “What you are facing is not greater than what I can give you to face it.”

God is greater than the pain.

When we go through hard times, we tend to pray for a fix. We pray for healing. We pray for God to take the thorn away. And sometimes, God does. But sometimes, our prayers don’t get answered in the way we hoped. Sometimes the thorn remains, and we have to trust that God will give us the strength and grace to walk through it.

That’s what Paul had to learn.

In the moment, we often think our thorns are the worst thing in the world. We feel like we’re never going to get out of it. We’re never going to feel better. And sometimes, giving up can seem easier than continuing to fight.

But God knows us. God sees what we cannot see. And even when He doesn’t remove the thorn, He promises that His grace is enough.

Sometimes we look back on the hard seasons of our lives and realize, “God carried me through that. He taught me through that. He showed me that I could depend on Him even when I couldn’t depend on myself.”

We don’t always understand the why while we’re in the middle of the storm. But we can trust the One who is with us in it.

Give it to God. Lean on Him. Trust Him.

When we’re in the thick of it, we can remember that His grace is enough to get us through.

Today, I pray that whatever thorns you are dealing with, you have the strength to trust God, lean on His grace, and let Him guide you through it. ❤️🙏🏼

Donate to our hygiene drive! 🪥🪮

Our youth group is collecting hygiene products for our local schools! Every year tons of groups collect school supplies, but we often overlook a bigger issue. Hygiene! All items collected will be packed and distributed to schools in our town. If you would like to donate products or a monetary donation, you may drop off at church or contact Camille for pickup! We appreciate each and every donation!

Hygiene item wishlist:
Toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, female products, shampoo, mouthwash,
bar soap, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, combs/hairbrushes, dental floss, body wash. Travel sizes preferred ❤️

🙌🏼 What a wonderful Sunday service yesterday! Judah graced us with beautiful music and Pastor Chris reminded us that sometimes we have to accept no for an answer.

God doesn’t always provide answers immediately and sometimes he doesn’t remove our thorns like we want him to, but eventually we realize that those thorns where there for a reason. That “no” he gave us was for a reason and prepared us for our future. ❤️

If you opened your Bible and started a Bible study right now, where would you start? 🤔📖

What’s one thing you are really enjoying learning right now or wish you could start digging into?

For me, I tend to do my studies along with our Sunday sermon, but I have been enjoying diving deeper. I have enjoyed learning the timelines of things, where they took place, who all was involved, who wrote it, and how it all connects back to my life right now.

This week, try to dive deeper into scripture. Actually study the Word and not just text. Read a whole chapter, not just a single verse.

And as you close out your week, reflect on that scripture. How can you apply it to your daily life? How does that affect you? ❤️

Have you ever said something you wish you could take back? 🫣😬

Ephesians 4:29 says “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up…”

Our words have power. They carry so much more weight that we think sometimes. We can use our words to tear people down or build them up. And sometimes, it’s the words we say nonchalantly that hurt the most. The ones where we’re “just joking”, gossiping, or the little comments. The ones that we say that we think aren’t a big deal.

Before we speak, we should ask ourselves: “Is what I’m about to say going to help this person, or hurt them?”

As Christians, we’re not just called to avoid cursing or saying bad words. We’re called to use words to build people up. We’re called to make the world a better place, not tear it down.

Today, try to be intentional with your words. Use them to build up others. Use them to encourage someone else or speak positively about them. Say something nice, encouraging, or positive. You never know what someone else is going through. That one kind word could completely change their day or even their life. Let’s use our mouths to build up each other the way God intended ❤️🙌🏼
