I had this dream that I invited about 35 international students from NYC to Lancaster County, Pa to have Thanksgiving Dinner. Introduced them to real American families with children and animals. Took them on a tour of Amish country on a bus and sent them home inspired and encouraged that the world is not such a bad place and that God loves them. This dream had been a reality for over 20 years with my family and friends- meeting people from all over the planet and hosting them in homes of Americans. Cross-cultural exchanges of ideas and customs and food and various ways of life that weren’t weird, just different and we all appreciated this event every year around Thanksgiving. Since “The Weirdemic of 2020” (my pet name for the global takeover of fear, tyrants and death), this Cross-cultural exchange had been sidelined and it dissolved and all the parties, food and people and laughter and learning turned to the sound of crickets. We “zoomed” into virtual reality as a substitute for work, play and learning and even worship and called it “normal”. We were duped! “Fool me once, shame on you….” finish it! Never again! My children’s children will know life, peace and joy in the middle of storms, war, political intrigue and yes- even death! My anchor to my soul is faith in Jesus Christ! He will show us the truth because he is the way, the truth and the life. So keep on living, not just existing! As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD and we will thrive! I encourage you to do the same! Peace to you all!
