If we are honest, we speak more to Jesus than we listen to Him.

St. Benedict advised his monks to “listen with the ear of your heart.”

May we listen willingly and attentively to the Word, so that Christ may bear fruit in our lives.

Last week, the Catholic Church celebrated the feast day of St. Augustine of Hippo. Augustine was one of the greatest saints. Before his conversion, he was one of the greatest sinners.

Nothing is impossible for God.

Christ Crucified is the remedy to our disordered, sinful inclinations.

May His Holy Wounds be our refuge in times of temptation as well as in our failures.

St. Augustine, pray for us.

Sanctity means swimming against the current of the world.

It means preferring the Word to the world.

A holy person wants only the will of God.

You might be rare if you….

Don’t take Jesus’ name in vain.
Don’t look at p**n.
Save yourselves for marriage.
Go to confession frequently.
Receive Jesus often, especially on Sundays.
Avoid unnecessary work on Sundays.
Pray the rosary daily.
Spend time in mental prayer.
Read the Bible daily.
Read spiritual books, especially with your spouse.
Pray before and after meals.
Examen your sins daily.
Dress modestly.
Follow all of the Church’s teachings.
Give generously to the Church and poor.
Live for God and others.
Love your enemies.
Pray for those who persecute you.
Are not materialistic.
See suffering as a blessing.
Put your vocation before your occupation.
Seek humility and gratitude.
Long for Heaven.

What makes you rare like the saints?
