June 9 is the feast day of Bl. Anna Maria Taigi (1769-1837).
She was an Italian wife, mother of seven, and a mystic. She practiced incredible custody of the eyes and never walked alone with another man-just her husband.
Few saints illustrate the beauty of holiness in ordinary life more than Anna Maria Taigi. She was also a lay member of the Trinitarian Third Order, she spent her days immersed not in a convent, but in the duties of family life. Amid poverty, sickness, and the challenges of a difficult marriage, she cultivated a profound union with God through prayer, sacrifice, and works of charity.
Blessed with extraordinary mystical gifts—including a mysterious “sun” through which God reportedly revealed souls, events, and future happenings—she became a sought-after counselor to priests, bishops, and even members of the nobility.
Jesus came to her because she was humble. Our world needs more humble and pure souls. Our world needs holy mothers!
Bl. Anna Maria Taigi, pray for us.
