Update from Goa, India Project
Pastor Luciano Pinheiro
Pastor Luciano Pinhero sent the following article and pictures for this month's update to HCM supporters and friends.
We as Pinheiro family continue praying and trusting Timothy will overcome the situation he is facing right now. He is a blessing to us and we miss him a lot.
We continue our work in Goa believing that the fruits will come in time. We are grateful to all brothers and sisters who have invested in this ministry through prayers and offerings. In November, Indians celebrated Diwali, the most popular festival in Hinduism with an official duration of five days. Most families travel to their villages and towns for a minimum of two weeks to celebrate it with their families.
Our Sunday services are on standby as all the families we work with have gone to celebrate Diwali in their homeland. But we continue our work with the children, the sewing classes, and also with NewCycle.
If possible, we want to host a Christmas dinner for these families, but we will need finances for that. If you want to participate by giving a gift for the Christmas party, your gift will be welcomed and will bless these families.
Adriana learned to make a nutritious porridge that takes around 10 grains and also some nuts. All ingredients are crushed and served with milk. We have used this recipe to serve the children who live in the community where NewCycle is established. And also to the children we already work with on Sunday services. For now we serve it two times a week, but our goal is to serve 6 times a week. We have also been teaching Bible studies, handcrafts and choreographies. The aim is to hold a Christmas party where children will perform choreographies for their parents. The songs are all Christian. And we will use this day to talk about Jesus to these families, as it is a very favorable date for that.
Adriana continues to teach her students how to cut and sew and after classes she has always visited their homes and has been a blessing. She has the challenge of making her students aware of personal hygiene. She has been teaching them to make reusable pads, because these girls cannot afford disposable pads.
New Cycle is still getting established. We were able to sell the press machine that we had bought at the beginning but which was not ideal for the work we were doing. We’ve already bought another one that has the capacity to produce what we need. So as soon as the new press arrives, we will be delivering the one we sold. Despite this difficulty, we continue to work and invest in the lives of NewCycle’s laborers, who have already been impacted by the way we treat and value them.
Pray for the Christmas celebrations. We want to have a dinner and bless these families.
Pray for wisdom for Adriana to reach the hearts of her students.
Pray for families to return from the Diwali festival.
Pray for the new press to arrive so that we can generate more jobs at NewCycle and bless more families
In Christ
