Founded in 2002, Gylđirhóff heretofore written in the form of Gylðirhaus is an
independent, not for profit, kindred. We are a cultural, and spiritual group who practice the pre Christian faith of the Nordic people known as Asatru, as based in the firm foundation of historical accuracy and
scholarship. We believe that Asatru is the ancestral religion of the Northern European Pan-Germanic peoples, however, our Kindred holds with the tradition of acceptance to those whose calling comes from the spiritual connection to the Gods and Goddesses and not solely through current lifetime ancestry. Our aim is the revitalization of the native ancestral Nordic religion, to provide and impart accurate information to our folk of their sacred spiritual heritage and thus grow in size. And to educate the Non Asatru community of the true nature of our religion in order to discredit those who would promote fear and hate through the perversion of our beliefs and symbols. We are organized under tribal democratic lines that operate within the confines of the groups beliefs and principles. As it is seen through the Edda in Tyr's sacrificing his hand to bind Fenrir for the good of the people, he had taken him as his fosterling so we refer to ourselves as The Wolf Children of Tyr as we are the keepers of his tenets as his thanes. We are strengthened by our partnerships within the greater Asatru community. We strongly encourage and emphasize fellowship and spiritual growth amongst our members. We are named Gylðirhaus after the name of the founder of the Kindred Goði Dagr Gylðir, The patron God of the kindred is Tyr as we view him as the Keeper of Law and Order and the defender of our peoples way of life however, as we are a true polytheistic faith we honor all of the other Gods and Goddesses of Asatru and turn to them for strength, guidance and wisdom. We gather together with Family and friends for sumbels, blots, feasts and games on our holy days. We study the Nordic Religion, Languages, Sagas, Eddas, Runes, and we practice the arts & crafts of our ancient ancestors that is our cultural inheritance; mead making, rune carving and blacksmithing, woodcarving, more .....
