Welcome to our Sunday worship webcast.

We webcast live on Sunday mornings via FaceBook Live and upload the recorded service to our YouTube channel immediately following the service for your convenience and edification. The FPC of Elizabeth is a group of believers who strive to be a witness of God’s love and salvation to our community and we want you to know that YOU are welcome here!

If you are searching for a place to call your church home please email, or stop in some time. We would love to spend time with you! Maybe consider coming to our next (and final for the 2025-26 school year) free community dinner and worship service at 5:45 PM this Wednesday, May 20. This is a “come as you are” (really), informal dinner in the fellowship hall with our Kids Club families followed by some contemporary Christian music and a devotional time spent in the sanctuary. We would love to meet you.

The First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth’s Sunday worship services incorporate contemporary music and communication styles as well as remembering our heritage by singing hymns, reading the scripture and preaching the Word. Worship music in today’s service include the contemporary Christian songs “Christ Be Magnified”, and “That’s Who I Praise” as well as the classic Christian hymns “All Hail the Power” , “I Surrender All” and the traditional “Doxology.”

We meet at 11:00 AM for our weekly Sunday Worship Service. We are always honored that you are worshipping our Lord and Savior with us. May God bless us all as we strive to make a difference for the kingdom in this community.

During the week our office is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

If you are interested in joining us in ministry as a congregant or as a member of our technology and/or ministry teams simply call or email us. We are currently in need of a Children’s Ministry director, vocalists and sound techs as well as other positions on our tech team. Our contact page: https://www.fpcelizabeth.org/visit. If God has gifted you in any of these areas we invite you to help us make a difference for Christ in our community.

Welcome to our Sunday worship webcast.

While this is MEMORIAL DAY weekend, today is also PENTECOST Sunday for the Christian Church (50 days after Easter). The word “Pentecost” is found in both the Old Testament and the New. The origin of the Christian use of Pentecost is found in Acts 2. This chapter tells us that while the believers were gathered together, “a sound like the rush of a violent wind … filled the entire house where they were sitting” (Acts 2:2). Tongues of fire appeared and rested on the believers. They “were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability” (Acts 2:4). Pentecost is often referred to as the birthday of the church. Todays worship service will explore these themes.

The First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth offers a “KIDS’ CLUB” for local students. This is our second year to offer this ministry to our community and tonight is our final Community Fellowship & Worship night for the 2025-2026 academic school year.

In conjunction with this youth program, during the academic year we share a free monthly meal open to anyone in our community. The meal is followed by a short devotional time, worship and the Lord’s Supper. Please consider joining us when we restart this program next school year.

We pray God’s richest blessings on these precious children and extend our deepest gratitude to their families for sharing their children with us — it is our great joy to provide this service and ministry to you. We pray health, safety and great fun to you during the Summer vacation.

Finally, to our students: We love you! May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. Have a safe summer vacation and we look forward to seeing you next year! Be kind to each other and make a difference wherever you find yourself. Just because you are a kid doesn’t meant mean you can’t make a big difference for God’s kingdom.

See you next year,
Pastor Ben

This congregation observes the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of most months throughout the calendar year. Today’s worship service will include the observance of this liturgy, one of the most holy rituals Christians have observed throughout history. Join with us at the culmination of the service by having ready a small piece of bread and a small symbol of the fruit of the vine as we remember what Christ has done for us by both His sacrifice on the cross of Calvary and His resurrection from the dead.
