We are under and high wind warning starting tonight through tomorrow night. The advisory states that trees and power lines could be blown down.

There's a 90% chance of snow overnight, dropping to 30% during the day. There isn't a lot of accumulation predicted. The predicted high is 28°F tomorrow.

So, there's potential for cold temperatures, blowing snow, overcast skies, and no power at church, meaning no heat or lights.

The council is in discussions on what to do in the event there is no power tomorrow morning, so stay tuned.

Dear brothers and sisters, the glory of the Lord has shone upon us, and shall ever be manifest among us, until the day of His return. Through the rhythms of times and seasons let us celebrate the mysteries of salvation.

First, let us recall the year’s culmination, the Easter Triduum of the Lord: His last supper, His crucifixion, His burial, and His rising celebrated between the evening of 2nd April (Maundy Thursday) and the evening of 5th April (the Resurrection of Our Lord).

Each Easter—as on each Sunday—the Holy Church makes present the great and saving deed by which Christ has forever conquered sin and death.

From Easter are reckoned all the days we keep holy.
• Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, will occur on 18th February.
• The Ascension of the Lord is commemorated on 14th May.
• Pentecost, the joyful conclusion of the season of Easter, will be celebrated on 24th May.
• And this year, the First Sunday in Advent will be on 29th November.

Likewise the pilgrim Church proclaims the Passover of Christ in the feasts of the Apostles and Saints, and in the commemoration of the faithful departed. The following feasts and commemorations occur on Sundays:
• The Presentation of the Augsburg Confession is observed on 28th June, transferred from 25th June.
• St. Luke, Evangelist, is on 18th October.
• St. Michael and All Angels is observed on 27th September, transferred from 29th September.
• Reformation Day is observed on 25th October, transferred from 31st October.
• All Saints’ Day is on 1st November.

To Jesus Christ, who was, who is, and who is to come, Lord of time and history, be endless praise, for ever and ever. Amen.

'Tis the season...fa la la la la.

There ya go, the first winter weather advisory for this fall/winter, and it happens to be for Wednesday. Current estimates are for 2" to 4", but keep an eye on it. At those estimates, we should be fine to meet for our first Mid-week Advent service; still, we'll update here if things change.

(P) Our usual attendees are seeing to other things tonight, so we will not be having our regular Wednesday evening activities today. We'll aim to return to normal next week.

(P) Due to a heavy schedule and other obligations today and tomorrow, our regularly scheduled Wednesday activities tonight will be canceled. We will look to resume our study of the Power and Primacy of the Pope next week.
