Riverside Baptist Church We are a casual and conservative Southern Baptist Church at 1528 Weeksville Rd, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.

Founded in 1902, Riverside Baptist Church seeks to minister to our community in the name of Jesus Christ. We believe that every human being is innately rebellious against God and needs saving from that sin-nature. Jesus Christ, God the Son, came to earth, lived a perfect sin-less life, took the punishment for our sins (death) onto Himself, then came back to life 3 days later. Asking Jesus to forgi

ve you of your sins and to be your Lord is the only way to enter Heaven because there is no other way for us to have our sins forgiven.

During Friday of the original Holy Week, Jesus was crucified at about 9 in the morning. He died about 3pm. During those 6 agonizing hours, Jesus said several significant things, but probably the most profound is "It Is Finished." The plan first spoken of by God to Eve, when He promised one of her descendants would crush the evil tempter, was finally completed. The guilt and punishment earned by all the sinners who trust and follow Jesus was just transferred onto His holy self, and the plan to rescue humanity from their own sin was finished.
