In Pastor Schalk's sermon today he talked about the CROSS that JESUS took up for US and he talked about the CROSS WE take up as Christians -- meaning to live as CHILDREN of GOD in our daily lives despite the temptations from the devil and the world around us.

In Pastor Schalk's sermon today he began by referencing a Charlie Brown and Lucy comic strip where Lucy unfolds her deck chair and talks about putting it so you can see where she is going or where she has been but then Charlie Brown says I CAN'T EVEN UNFOLD MY DECK CHAIR. Pastor went on to share that St. Paul tells us in Romans how to "unfold our deck chairs" and how to live each day as a CHILD OF GOD.

It’s almost time! Children’s church is starting its new year on September 13!

Join us to kick off a year of fun and faith! ✝️

Church will begin at 9 am, and our children will join children’s church midway through the service. They will receive a lesson on faith and love that’s tailored just for them.

Following the service families are invited to enjoy lots of fun activities! There will be a bounce house house, crafts and more! 🎉

We hope you’ll join us on for Rally Day and every Sunday. 😁

At the service today, there was a DEDICATION of the St. John's Teachers, Staff and School Board Members. THANK YOU ALL for your service to our Lord and Savior and the children in St. John's Lutheran School.

The song for the school year is ROOTED IN CHRIST and Pastor Schalk reminded us in his sermon that we are BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST - this roots us in HIM.
