🔥 Happy Pentecost Sunday, MidTexas! 🔥
Tomorrow, all across MidTexas, church doors will open. Worship teams will rehearse. Coffee will be poured. Congregations will gather.
But Pentecost reminds us that the Church was never built on talented leaders, polished services, or perfect plans.
It was born when ordinary people were filled with the extraordinary power of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus told His followers:
"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses..." (Acts 1:8)
The disciples didn't change the world because they had influence. They changed the world because they were surrendered. They waited, they prayed, they trusted—and when the Spirit came, fearful followers became courageous witnesses.
The spotlight was never on them.
It was always on Jesus.
Pastors, tomorrow is not ultimately about our sermons, our strategies, or our schedules. It is about Christ. Preach Jesus. Lift up Jesus. Point people to Jesus. Trust the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do.
Some of you will stand before overflowing sanctuaries. Others will gather with a small flock in a rural community. Some will celebrate baptisms, professions of faith, and new members. Others may wonder if their labor is making a difference.
Take heart.
The same Spirit who filled the Upper Room is still empowering the Church today. The same Spirit who transformed Peter is still transforming lives. The same Spirit who launched a movement that reached the nations is still at work in your congregation and community.
So preach boldly. Worship expectantly. Pray confidently. Love generously. Depend completely on the Holy Spirit.
And above all else—make Jesus big.
May every song, prayer, sermon, sacrament, conversation, and act of hospitality point people to the risen and reigning King.
Come, Holy Spirit. Glorify Jesus through Your Church.
Happy Pentecost, MidTexas!
