He has told you, O man what is good, And what does the Lord require of you but to do JUSTICE, TO LOVE KINDNESS, AND TO WALK HUMBLY WITH YOUR GOD? Micah chapter 2 verse 7. Is it being said, O house of Jacob, Is the Spirit of the Lord impatient? Are these his doings? Do not my words Do good to the one walking uprightly? Chapter 3 verse 5. Thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who lead my people astray, when they have something to bite with their teeth, they cry, Peace, but against him who puts nothing in their mouths, they declare holy war. God's word does reward the righteous. These preachers were motivated by greed and God's word also rebukes those doing evil. Go do Mathew 5 verse 6. Hunger and thirst after righteousness. Jonah chapter 4 starting in verse 1. But it greatly displeased Jonah and he became angry. He prayed to the Lord and said, Please Lord, was not this what I said while I was still in my own country? Therefore in order to forestall this I fled to Tarshish, FOR I KNEW THAT YOU ARE A GRACIOUS AND COMPASSIONATE GOD, SLOW TO ANGER AND ABUNDANT IN LOVING-KINDNESS, AND ONE WHO RELENTS CONCERNING CALAMITY. Therefore now, O Lord , please take my life from me, for death is better to me than life. Jonah knew God would be gracious. Jonah hated the people of Nineveh and would rather die than see them saved. I post alot of God's wrath and forget to post God's grace. Remember God is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abundant in LOVING-KINDNESS. Go tell someone, even someone you don't like. Jonah chapter 1 starting in verse 1. The word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai saying, Arise go to Nineveh the great city and cry against it, for their wickedness has come up before me. But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. So he went down to Joppa, found a ship that was going to Tarshish, paid the fare and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. I use to get made at Jonah for ignoring God. Now I realize I have done it alot. Seen someone I knew I was supposed to witness to, supposed to help and I did nothing. We are all lucky we have not been eaten by a big fish. I have one thing to do today, that is follow him. The rest will take care of itself. Obadiah starting in verse 12. Do not gloat over your brothers day, the day of his misfortune. And do not rejoice over the sons of Judah in the day of their destruction, yes do not boast in the day of their distress. Let us love people, let us feel sorrow for their misfortune. Let us pray to God for them in their distress. Psalm 6 verse 1. O Lord do not rebuke me in your anger, nor chasten me in your wrath. I have one thing to do today, that is follow him. Amos chapter 8 starting in verse 11. Behold the days are coming, declares the Lord God, when I will send a famine on the land, not a famine for bread or a thirst for water, but rather for hearing the words of the Lord. People will stagger from sea to sea and from the north even to the east, they will go to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, but they will not find it. Hard verses to read when God has seen and heard enough. Father forgive us for all the times we disappoint you. For I know your transgressions are many and your sins are great. You who distress the righteous and accept bribes and turn aside the poor in the gates. Build your houses and make your plans but understand God still makes the sun rise for you. He woke you up today live it for him. I have one thing to do today, that is follow him. He tells about drought and the problems he has given them. Four more times he says, yet you have not returned to me, declares the Lord. Maybe when it seems like nothing is going our way, we need to seek the Lord. RETURN TO ME DECLARES THE LORD. I have one thing to do today, that is follow him. The rest will take care of itself.
