Church Family- This Sunday, 02/15/2026, we will be meeting together immediately following worship to update you on SB3572 and how we can practically and simply get involved. This bill honors God and His Law and, like John the Baptist, serves as an opportune time to be a prophetic voice to our legislators and our community. God's Law and Gospel is not to be confined the four-walls of our church.

Additionally, if the Lord has given you the flexibility to be at the capital this Tuesday, before noon, for a noon press conference, I cannot urge you strongly enough to join Pastor Don and Pastor Geoff, as well many many Christians from all over the State of Illinois, as we take a stand, in Christ's Name, and call for equal protection under the law for all humans; no matter their stage of development!

Friends- We're blessed to announce that we have begun the search for a second fulltime pastor/elder!

By God's grace, EBC has grown into a trans-generational church with a considerable population of thriving young families who love the Lord, His Word, and the Covenant Community of Faith. This will be the primary ministry of focus for this position although church-wide preaching/teaching, with regularity, will be included for this elder/pastor.

General details concerning the work are consistent with the pastoral ministry (administrative leadership in the areas of Education, Missions, Discipleship, Preaching/Teaching) & specifics can be requested at the email addresses below. Please be praying for us as we seek to honor the Lord & grow the Kingdom.

"Blessed is the man whom you chasten, O YHWH, And whom you teach out of Your Law; That you may grant him relief from the days of adversity..." Psalm 94:12-13

The Lord, as an act of His Love, brings discipline into our lives so that He would spare us the turmoil that comes from living outside His perfect design.

It is the Law of God (all of it) that reveals God's character and His perfect design for life; those who shun it (myself included) do so to their own self-inflicted peril. May God spare you and I the peril that comes by His loving hand of discipline.

Implied in the language of "born again" is an essential spiritual transformation, effecting one's life, as significant as the original transformation of from the womb into the world.

Have you been essentially transformed? Born again?

Today, my friends, is the Lord's Day; the day when Jesus literally and bodily raised Himself from the dead. Nothing more significant has ever happened and you can do nothing more meaningful than to worship Him today, as He has commanded!

Jesus is worthy!

It's sad, really. This is the modern day personification of Jesus' words, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do" as He hung upon the cross.

Certainly, these people know they are mocking Christianity but they clearly do not understand/know that they are, in fact, mocking their Creator, Law-giver, and Judge. Christians around the world should be praying that the Lord opens these people's minds to the Truth that it is only in and through the Man they mock that their sin can be forgiven and they can be spared the torments of eternal condemnation.

"Do not be deceived. God is not mocked. For whatever one sows, that will he also reap." Galatians 6:7

We live in an upside-down world of praising wickedness and denigrating God's Righteous Law. Only chaos, destruction, & death can come from such foolishness.

Only Jesus can rescue.

Oh, precious Jesus- May I be no longer unfruitful in your garden!

Lord, do as you have said. Dig around me, and pour on me all the sweet influences of your Holy Spirit; which, like the rain, the sun, and the dew of heaven, may cause me to bring forth fruit to God.

And, Lord, if you will listen to an unworthy creature like me plead for others, let the coming year bring the same blessing to all your redeemed; even to my unawakened relatives, and to thousands who are still in darkness.

Friend- Don't let religious or "spiritual" people fool you.

There simply is no "Christianity" outside of obedience to Jesus Christ. Christianity is not a familial or cultural identifier. Christianity is obeying Christ when He commands you to trust solely in Him and obey His commands.
