October - Pastor Appreciation Month. It's a time for the Christian church to honor and thank their pastor.
What is the definition of a pastor? By dictionary, it means "minister in charge of a church or congregation". However, a pastor is so much more.
The life of a pastor isn't a path for everyone. It's a calling, sometimes a difficult one. It's more than just standing before the congregation to preach.
It's taking the time to prepare each and every sermon.
The love and care put into each word they speak to someone in a time of need, a time they may need help and guidance.
The stress and burdens they carry behind the scenes.
All of the visitations, prayers, counseling, etc.
They do all of this with hardly any vacation, any breaks.
They lead the church with a passion for sharing God's word.
A pastor is never "off duty". They don't have normal schedules, clocking out at 5 for the day and not having a second thought of work for the remainder of their day. We don't know how many sleepless nights they spend on their knees praying for their church, praying for every member individually.
We cannot carry their weight for them, but we can pray for them. Encourage them, and support them.
We want to take this time to personally thank our pastor, Richard, for every single thing he does for us and for the church.
All the prayers you pray for us that we don't know about, all the visits to any one of us who have been in the hospital or lost a loved one. The love and care you have for each individual member is something that does not go unseen, and we all love you very much. Happy Pastor Appreciation Richard!!
