Troop 1 & Elbert Lone Scouts

Troop 1 will be hosting a Join Night for the formation of Pack 1776 in Elbert, CO!!
If you have a son or daughter, kindergarten through 5th grade, who is interested in being a founding member of a Cub Scout pack, come and see us at 6:00pm at the Russell Gates Mercantile in Elbert, Thursday, October 23rd.
There will be fun and games, as well as information for parents and great deals on joining that night.

We have a real, honest to goodness, troop now. Troop 1 is the newest troop in Greater Colorado Council, and the ONLY troop in the town of Elbert! We are accepting applications for Scouts, both boy and girl, to join us in our Scouting adventures. Boys will be enrolled in the troop, and girls will be registered as Lone Scouts for the time being. We're also looking for adult leaders to join our troop, so there's fun for the whole family. Join now and be a founder of a new troop.

Baden-Powell set a standard over a century ago for the campaign hat to be paired with the noble Scout uniform. Powder River Hats has been setting the standard in hat making for years now, from Elizabeth Colorado. The time has come for the two to meet in spectacular form. Within the next year, there will be a Powder River made version of the venerable campaign hat. When that time comes, keep an eye out for it on the trails, at Wood Badge, Philmont Scout Ranch, or maybe even the National Jamboree. (the below pictured hat is a Powder River hat, but not the campaign hat, as it hasn't been made yet)

It doesn't take a lot of gear, or even a lot of planning to get outside for the day. Colorado is an amazing state for enjoying the great outdoors, with hiking trails through some of the most beautiful country on God's great green Earth. That said, a hike with some Hill People Gear on, is usually at least a little better than without it.
