Elberon Memorial Church Beautiful Historic Church opened July to September for Sunday Services available for weddings April-December TAYLOR by his wife, Catherine A. Taylor.

Erected 1885 Dedicated June 14, 1886 in Loving Memory of MOSES B. Now known as the

Elberon Memorial Church 70 Park Avenue Long Branch, NJ

Is blended tastefully with Gothic architecture of the building, designed by the eminent New York architect, Stanford White,

who was a friend of Louis Tiffany, the stained glass windows have been described by experts as the finest 14th -century style stai

ned glass in the country. Each window is a memorial presented by a child of Moses Taylor. Because the manufacture of blue glass of this type has become a "lost art", These windows are irreplaceable . The east and west windows were made by the Meyers brothers in Mannheim, Germany. The Rose window in the Narthex is a Tiffany product, and the remaining windows were made by American artisans . The picturesque historical church is a Non-denominational Church. All are Welcome ! We are now taking request for Weddings in 2017. Call for an application 732 -870-2241 or email [email protected]

May 18, 2026.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Lees, President, Board of Trustees, Elberon Memorial Church.
Sharon had been struggling with health issues for several years and succumbed at home with her husband, Jeremy at her side last night.
Sharon's knowledge of Elberon Church's long and rich history was extensive, as was her devotion to the workings of our beloved Summer Worship Program.
We will do the best to continue to offer the most unique program of preaching and music in her honor and to the glory of our Triune God.
Pray for Jeremy and the Board as we struggle to carry on without our Beloved Sister in the Faith.
More details of arrangements to follow on this site...
For the Board,

Rev Dr Hugh MacKenzie

"Blessed are they who die in the Lord."

During this Easter Season, be sure to take a ride into the historic borough of Elberon, NJ. On 70 Park Avenue, one block from the ocean, you will see the Gothic church, Elberon Memorial Church, a remarkable collection of stained glass windows—now more than 130 years old—that continues to draw admiration as among the finest in the United States. Installed in the late 19th century, every window in the sanctuary was crafted by Mayer of Munich, the renowned Bavarian studio formally known as the Mayer brothers, whose work was commissioned by major churches around the world, including projects for the Vatican.

These luminous works of art reflect the height of European ecclesiastical craftsmanship of their era. Rich in color, intricate in detail, and masterfully composed, the windows depict biblical scenes and sacred figures with an artistry that has endured for generations. Their presence transforms the sanctuary, casting shifting patterns of light that change with the time of day, creating an atmosphere both reverent and visually stunning.

Photographed on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, by Brian Johnston for Asbury Park Press, the windows remain not only a testament to religious devotion but also to the enduring legacy of master artisans whose work continues to inspire awe well into the 21st century.

The Summer Sanctuary is now closed for the season. I hope all are doing well. I want to share some information about the Elberon Memorial Church, which will be tentatively available for use as a film production location. to begin after Labor Day 2026 and continue beyond. This 140-year-old landmark, now a summer sanctuary with its bright interior made from Poplar wood, and on the National Register of Historic Sites since 1976, with deep ties to Long Branch, NJ's history. Its Gothic and Norman architectural style was created by the firm McKim, Mead and White, featuring an original stained-glass window by Louis Comfort Tiffany with an 180-pipe organ designed by Hilburne L. Roosevelt. This building has a truly unique setting both inside and out, making it a great location for a featured film. Attached are more detailed photos and background information about the church's long history. Please share this information with anyone who may be interested. Thank you so much for your time and consideration, and for your continued support of local history and its creative community
Warm regards. WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONE NEXT SEASON
