Brothers and sisters, according to the bible being saved means being rescued from the penalty of sin which is death. The foundation of our salvation is based on grace of God through faith and not through our good works so that no one can boast.
Salvation is a gift from God, purchased by the blood of Jesus on the cross. Its security relies on the Giver not the recipient. If salvation were earned by good behaviour, one could never be sure of it because no one is perfect and as a human could always fail. However, because it is anchored in Christ's finished work, a solid foundation of assurance is guaranteed.
The bible said that we can be saved and absolutely sure of it. But this guaranteed salvation should not lead to arrogance or a license to sin, rather if we truely accepted God as our saviour, it should produce a profound self renewal, peace, and a motivation to live that honors Him. Security of salvation in the hands of God allows a believer to serve him out of love and gratitude.
