On the special occasion of Vaisakhi, a beautiful turban tying table was set up at El Sobrante Gurdwara 🙏✨

Kids, women, and men who didn’t know how to tie a turban—but were excited to learn—came forward with so much enthusiasm and joy to experience this beautiful part of Sikhi. 💛

It was amazing to see everyone trying, learning, and embracing the significance of the Dastar with love and respect.

Here are some glimpses from our Vaisakhi weekend celebrations 🌸

To celebrate Vaisakhi, 2nd Annual Dastar Dumalla Competition at El Sobrante Gurdwara was organized🙏
it’s amazing to see the growing enthusiasm and excitement among our youth to tie Dastar and Dumalla as more kids participated this year.

Beyond the competition, kids also learned about maryada and the importance of Dumalla from our respected judges. They were not only evaluated on how beautifully and neatly they tied their Dumalla, but also on how they prepared their base, cared for their kes (hair), and understood the importance of the kanga.

The spirit, dedication, and love for Sikhi continue to shine brighter each year ✨
