I'm asking you, please...
(I posted this in 2016, and I'm posting it again now:)

If you disagree with something someone else believes or practices, please do NOT use violence against that person.

There are many things that other people believe that I do not believe, but I always strive to treat all people with dignity and respect. We may disagree, but I'm willing to calmly hear and carefully what you have to say, as I would like for you to calmly listen to and carefully consider what I have to share on that very same subject (Luke 6:31). Being rude, calling names, insulting others, or reacting with violence to anyone who disagrees with you won't help you influence others to change their opinions, their beliefs, or their actions. In fact, doing any of those things is just plain wrong.

Consider what the Bible says--whether you believe in God or the Bible or not, at least consider these words, please:

"A soft answer turns away wrath, / But a harsh word stirs up anger." (Proverbs 15:1, NKJV)

"Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, 'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,' says the Lord. 20 Therefore / 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him; / If he is thirsty, give him a drink; / For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.' 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:17-21, NKJV).

Many people read verses 8 and 9 of the following passage, but fail to carefully consider what verse 10 says:

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:8-10)

Of course, to truly understand ALL of these verses, we need to read more than just these three verses. I invite and encourage you to search the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things are so (Acts 17:11).

Just claiming that Jesus is your Lord or saying you are a Christian is not enough.

Jesus said, "“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’" (Matthew 7:21-23, NKJV).

We invite you to come to our worship services at 10:30am on Sundays to learn more about how important it is to look to God for guidance in life. Come learn about the significance of Scriptural Authority, how the Bible is our standard, and how if we do NOT respect the authority of the Scriptures (the Bible), then we are not respecting God. The consequences for that are eternal unless we repent, return to God, and do things that clearly demonstrate our repentance.
