Meet 2026 Steward of the Year Finalist Ana “Anita” Ramos 💙
Ana “Anita” Ramos of St. Mark Catholic Church is the founder of the RICO Ministry, where she has faithfully welcomed and served migrant children and youth with Christian love, compassion, dignity, and hope.
Her humble and generous example has inspired her family and members of her parish community to join this mission. Through collaboration with civil, Church, and parish organizations, the ministry provides food, prayer, catechesis, participation in the Eucharist, and, most importantly, a welcoming place for those in need.
For many young migrants, Anita represents the maternal face of a Church that welcomes, accompanies, and recognizes the dignity of every person. Her life reminds us that in serving the most vulnerable, we serve Christ Himself.
