Im posting this in case any of you have not seen this on Facebook:
It is with great sadness to announce, The First United Methodist Church of El Monte, Is having its final church service on Sunday, July 31st, @ 10:00am. Our District Superintendent Rev Siosaia Tu’itahi will be preaching and Rev Kimball Coburn will have a revival of music with sing-a-long in our Fellowship Hall, along with a meal to share. Please “message” me on this text or “messenger” if you plan to attend, so we can plan for food. 💔🙏♥️
This is what I know:
1. We are going to have a service honoring the church.
2.Saia is going to preach.
3. Catie is going to find a pianist for the service.
4. It was suggested that we hire someone to clean the church before and after the event - Does anyone know someone who might be interested. They will be paid.
5. The meal we have will be purchased - a box meal was suggested - if anyone has any ideas or a suggestions please send them to me or on the text.
My hope is that all here will be able to attend. There will be no more Sunday services before or after the 31st.
I'd like input as to what you'd like to see as part of the service, and if any of you would like to get up and share your fond memories that would be great.
I will update you all as I am updated.
