Church should be the place where people can finally exhale.

Some people walk through those doors carrying pain they have told nobody about.

They smiled all week.
Worked all week.
Helped everybody else all week.
And quietly fell apart when nobody was looking.

Some come in grieving. Some come in confused.
Some come in ashamed. Some come in exhausted from fighting battles nobody can see.

And sometimes they do not need another performance.

They need God.

They need hope to rise again. They need love to reach them again. They need to be reminded that their life still has meaning. They need strength for one more day. They need to know that what hurt them did not destroy them.

Church should be the place where a person can walk in feeling empty…and leave knowing, “God still sees me. God still loves me. And by the grace of God, I’m going to make it.”

For some people, church is not just somewhere they go on Sunday.

It is the place where they learn how to BREATHE again.
