He knew as they cried, “Hosanna! Hosanna!”

Voices lifted, hands raised, hearts stirred, and yet, He knew…

He knew as the palm branches were laid beneath His feet, a royal path made by hands that did not yet understand the weight of the road He was truly walking.

He knew as they praised Him, as they called Him Savior, as they celebrated what they hoped He would be, all while missing who He truly was.

He knew.

He knew the cheers would fade.

He knew the same lips shouting “Hosanna”
would soon scream, “Crucify Him!”

He knew the adoration would turn to accusation.

The worship would turn to wrath.

The crown they imagined would become a cross He would carry.

He knew the lashes would tear into His back,
that His flesh would be opened by the cruelty of men He came to save.

He knew the crown of thorns would not gently rest, but be forced into His brow, each thorn a piercing reminder of the curse He came to break.

He knew the nails…
the weight of them…
the sound of them…
the agony of them.

He knew the betrayal would come with a kiss.

He knew His closest friends would scatter in fear.

He knew loneliness would wrap itself around Him
in His darkest hour.

He knew the cup set before Him… every drop of wrath, every ounce of suffering, every sin ever committed, He knew He would drink it.

And still, He rode in.

He knew our hearts would be stained.

He knew our lives would be broken.

He knew our sin would be heavy, far too heavy for us to carry.

He knew we would need mercy.
He knew we would need grace.
He knew we would need a Savior.

So while they mocked Him, He thought of us.

While they struck Him, He saw us.

While they condemned Him, He chose us.

He knew your name as each nail was driven into His hands.

He knew your failures as His blood began to fall.

He knew your story as He hung between heaven and earth, becoming the bridge we could never build.

He knew the cost of redemption, and He paid it anyway.

He knew many would reject Him.

He knew many would walk away.

He knew many would never love Him back, and still He chose the cross.

He chose the pain.
He chose the shame.
He chose the suffering.

Because through the agony, He saw you.

Through the torment, He saw me.

We were the joy set before Him.

What a God, what a God!

RUACH (רוּחַ)
Breath of Life, Wind of the Spirit

From the very beginning, ruach hovered over the waters. G-d’s Spirit creating and giving life (Genesis 1:2).

In Hebrew, ruach means breath, wind, or Spirit. It’s what filled Adam’s lungs. It’s what empowered the prophets. And it’s what Yeshua promised to all who follow Him.

We don’t walk alone. The same Ruach that raised Him from the dead lives in us... leading and breathing life into dry places.
