We want a safe, comfortable Jesus who agrees with us 100% of the time and does what we want when we want it. We want our manufactured king who has the power we need but looks like us. As the King of kings, Jesus does what He does and says what He says because He is in charge, not us. Our King has all the power and demands we look like Him. Don't settle for a plastic, manufactured Jesus, but follow the real, unsafe but 100% good, King of kings.

How much is Jesus worth to you? That's the hardest question we ever have to answer and the implication of the story of Jesus' anointing. Judas wanted a God he could control and valued his god accordingly. The anonymous woman saw God as God and trusted Him to do accordingly. So, how much is Jesus worth to you?

God didn't just design us for community, He has always called His people to be a visible, contagious community that draws people in! If we're not living in such a way that people want to be a part of it, we're not following God's plan and purpose for His people.
