When you put a puzzle together, it's a good idea to start at the corners and slowly follow the edges as a guide. This week, we heard about how Saul became a follower of Jesus after his unique experience on the way to Damascus. Saul showed us that we can follow Jesus even when we don't see the big picture right away. We put some puzzles together and even made some of our own puzzles to remind us that a man named Saul learned about God's plan for him ... one piece at a time!

Big Idea: Jesus makes all things new.
Bible: Luke 24:1-12
Once you plant a seed you’ll need to provide the right amount of water, sunlight and air so that it can bloom into something brand new. This week we heard about how Jesus died, came back to life and made a way for all of us to bloom and grow with God. He came out of the darkness and brought light into the world because Jesus makes all things new.

Big Idea: Jesus knows what we need.
Bible: The Healing at the Pool: John 5:1-9a
There are so many different sea creatures in the world, and to take care of them, we have to know what each one of them needs. This week we heard about the miracle of Jesus healing a man who couldn’t walk. The man thought the water would heal him, but Jesus had something different in mind because Jesus knows what we need.
We also played I Have, Who Has with ocean creatures made a “Walk With Your Mat” craft! 🐙🐳🐋🐠

Big Idea: Jesus calls us to follow him
Bible: A Miraculous Catch of Fish: Luke 5:1–11
Fish often travel in schools or groups because they have learned to trust each other and know things are easier as a group. This week, we looked at the miracle of Jesus providing Simon Peter, Andrew, James, and John with boatloads of fish. Jesus did something miraculous to build trust in these men, and he does the same for us because Jesus calls us to follow him. We also made some colorful paper fish to remind us about the miraculous catch of fish from Luke 5:1-11!

"First Kids" of FUMC El Dorado will be presenting a Christmas program during the 9:00 a.m. worship service tomorrow, December 21st. You are invited to hear their story as presented with music and scripture!

Kids, please join us tomorrow (Sunday, Dec. 14th) at 10:00 AM to practice for our Children’s Christmas Program. Practice will be held in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church.

We’ll also meet again on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 8:45 AM in the sanctuary to rehearse and try on costumes.

Big Idea: Jesus is the Savior God promised.
Bible: Luke 1:26-38
Some of our favorite gifts are things that were promised to us- a new baseball glove, a computer, or a special trip with our own family. This week, we heard about how the angel Gabriel told Mary the joyful news that she will carry God’s own son. When he was born, people realized just how special this gift would be- Jesus is the savior God promised.
We also did a wreath race trying to throw pom-poms onto wreaths to see who could get the most to stick and we made a joy tree ornament to represent what we learned.

Big Idea:
God gives us companions.
Bible: Ruth and Naomi (Ruth 1)
So many of our favorite superheroes have sidekicks and companions to help them out when they need it most. This week we learned about how Ruth chose to follow Naomi back to her hometown after they experienced unexpected losses. Ruth knew Naomi needed someone to help and support her, and their relationship helps us see why God gives us companions.
We revealed our big idea with punch cups today and knocked out the big idea together! 💥 Then we made a comic strip telling the story of Ruth and put it in the correct order of events.
