The Mobile Assistance Center (MAC) is hitting the road to bring services directly to the communities we serve. If you need help with housing assistance, energy assistance, weatherization, or other resources, visit us at any of the locations listed below.

📢 Extreme Cold Weather Alert: Warming Shelter Open at the Liston Center ❄️

With extreme cold temperatures ahead, the warming shelter at the Liston Center will be open beginning at 5 PM, Sunday, January 5, and will remain open overnight until 7:30 AM Monday morning.

We anticipate continuing cold temperatures throughout the week and expect the warming shelter to be open overnight through Thursday or Friday.

When looking through news posts this morning, I was reminded it was 41 years ago today that I had a tape librarian from the computer room of the Marine Corps Finance Center in Kansas City saying they needed me at work. They were having trouble getting a file of Record of Emergency Data to Camp Lejeune. I found out shortly after it was for the 220 Marines that were in the facility in Beirut.

🚚 “Fill the Truck” Diaper Drive! 🚚
The Diaper Pantry of El Dorado Springs is asking for help with a "Fill the Truck" diaper drive, hosted by Fugate Motors and El Dorado Springs R-2 Parents as Teachers. We're calling on individuals, clubs, organizations, and schools to help fill the truck with diapers for local families in need!
🗓️ Collection Dates: September 9 - October 7 🗓️
📍 Drop-Off Location: Fugate Motors, 220 US Hwy 54 West, El Dorado Springs, MO
🕙 Drop-Off Times: 10 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Saturday

🍼 All funds and diapers donated will directly benefit children in the El Dorado Springs community. 🍼
Sizes 4, 5, and 6 are most needed, but all sizes are appreciated! Monetary donations are appreciated too. As a not-for-profit organization, the Diaper Pantry is able to purchase diapers at a discount and tax free, helping stretch your dollars!

HELP PROVIDE A LITTLE COVERAGE FOR OUR YOUNGEST CITIZENS! HELP FILL THE TRUCK AT FUGATES!
Did you know the El Dorado Springs Diaper Pantry provides over 13,000 diapers each year to local families? Sounds like a lot, but consider that a newborn needs 10-12 diapers a day, and infant 10-12 diapers per day, and from 6 months through toddler, they need around 5 per day.
Why is this important? Several reasons.
*Babies have small bladders and urinate frequently. A wet and soiled baby is cranky and is not learning as they should.
*A cranky baby creates a stressed situation, and is at greater risk for child abuse. The simple act of changing a diaper can change everything in a moment.
*Food stamps cannot be used for diapers. Families in need are often unable to provide diapers for their children. Wet and soiled diapers cause skin rashes, cracked skin, and infection.

NOW THROUGH OCTOBER 7th, YOU CAN DONATE DIAPERS OR CASH TO PURCHASE DIAPERS. The Diaper Pantry is a 501c3, and can purchase diapers directly from the Diaper Bank of the Ozarks for a reduced price, so your cash donations are most appreciated too.
