🍩🚓🚒 HAPPY NATIONAL DONUT DAY! / ¡FELIZ DÍA NACIONAL DE LA DONA! 🚒🚓🍩

Today was a sweet day in the Imperial Valley!

Our Imperial Valley Corps Youth Group celebrated National Donut Day by delivering Dunkin' Donuts to the amazing men and women who serve our communities every day. We visited the Police Departments and Fire Departments in both El Centro and Calexico to express our gratitude for all they do.

From protecting our neighborhoods to responding in times of emergency, these heroes serve with dedication, courage, and compassion. Today we had the opportunity to put a smile on a few faces and say "thank you" the best way we know how—one donut at a time! 🍩❤️

A huge thank you to all of our first responders for your commitment and sacrifice. We appreciate you more than words can express!

¡Hoy fue un día muy especial y dulce en el Valle Imperial!

Nuestro Grupo de Jóvenes del Cuerpo del Valle Imperial celebró el Día Nacional de la Dona llevando donas de Dunkin' Donuts a los hombres y mujeres que sirven a nuestras comunidades cada día. Visitamos los Departamentos de Policía y Bomberos de El Centro y Calexico para expresar nuestro agradecimiento por todo lo que hacen.

Desde proteger nuestras comunidades hasta responder en momentos de emergencia, estos héroes sirven con dedicación, valentía y compasión. Hoy tuvimos la oportunidad de sacar algunas sonrisas y decir "gracias" de una manera sencilla pero significativa: ¡una dona a la vez! 🍩❤️

Did you know that the sweet treat we all love played an important role in The Salvation Army’s history? began with the bravery of Salvation Army volunteers during WWI. These “Donut Lassies” were on the front lines, providing supplies, spiritual comfort and, of course, donuts. 🍩

🎉 TODAY IS COMMODITIES DAY! 🎉🥦🍎🍗

Today is one of our favorite days of the month at The Salvation Army Imperial Valley Corps as we prepare to serve MORE THAN 240 families through our monthly commodities distribution!

Families will receive:
🥩 Meats
🥛 Dairy products
🍓 Fresh fruits
🥬 Fresh vegetables
🥫 Canned goods
🍞 Pantry staples
…and so much more!

We are also blessed to have amazing partner agencies on-site sharing additional resources and support with our community. ❤️

This day is always filled with excitement, smiles, encouragement, and neighbors helping neighbors. We are grateful for every volunteer, partner, donor, and family that makes this possible.

Today at our Calexico Meal Engagement Program, we had the privilege of serving over 80 hot plates to our friends in the community.

But today was about more than food. We shared the Word of God, prayed together, encouraged one another, and reminded our community that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Every plate served, every prayer lifted, and every conversation matters. We are grateful for every volunteer, donor, and supporter who helps make this ministry possible.

Thank you for allowing us to continue serving Imperial Valley with compassion and the love of Christ. Please continue praying for our friends experiencing hardship and for the continued growth of this outreach.
