Today’s Father’s Day Lunch at Valley Life Church was a special and memorable time of fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual challenge as men from across our church family gathered together from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM to celebrate Father’s Day.

While we enjoyed great food and wonderful conversation, the true highlight of the afternoon was the powerful testimony and message shared by Pastor Mike Lasky. Drawing from his own life experiences, Pastor Mike took us on a journey through his childhood, his family history, his call to ministry, and the many ways God has faithfully directed his life over the years.

Pastor Mike shared how he came to know Jesus Christ as a young boy and how the Lord began shaping his life long before he understood what God had planned for him. He spoke about growing up on a farm in Illinois, learning responsibility at an early age, working alongside his grandparents, and being influenced by godly men who helped cultivate a hunger for the things of God. Through story after story, he demonstrated the biblical principle that “iron sharpens iron,” reminding us that God often uses faithful men and women to influence future generations in ways they may never fully realize.

One of the most moving moments came as Pastor Mike spoke about his grandfather—a loving, respected, and God-fearing man who did not place his faith in Jesus Christ until the age of 63, only two years before his death. That testimony served as a powerful reminder that salvation is not about religious tradition, church attendance, or simply being a good person. It is about experiencing the transforming power of Jesus Christ. No one is beyond God’s reach, and it is never too late to respond to His invitation.

Throughout the message, Pastor Mike emphasized what he called “The Jesus Factor.” He reminded us that Christianity is not merely about reformation—it is about transformation. Jesus does not simply improve a life; He changes it. Through Christ, hearts are renewed, lives are redirected, and people become new creations. Pastor Mike shared how receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit as a young man became a turning point in his spiritual journey, bringing greater understanding of God’s purpose, deeper boldness in his faith, and a clearer sense of calling.

The challenge to the men in attendance was both simple and profound: hunger after God, obey His voice, pursue holiness, seek the fullness of the Holy Spirit, and surround yourself with godly influences that will strengthen your walk with Christ. Pastor Mike reminded us that our greatest legacy will not be measured by what we own, the positions we hold, or the accomplishments we achieve. Our greatest legacy will be the faith we pass on to our children, grandchildren, families, and those whose lives we touch along the way.

As the message concluded, men throughout the room responded to God’s prompting, standing in prayer and committing themselves to a deeper relationship with Christ. It was a beautiful and powerful moment as men prayed together, encouraged one another, and sought the Lord for fresh direction and renewed spiritual passion.

We are grateful to Pastor Mike for sharing his heart and decades of wisdom with us. We are also thankful for every volunteer who helped prepare, serve, and make this event possible.

As we celebrate Father’s Day weekend, may all of us be reminded that the world desperately needs men who love God, lead with humility, serve with integrity, and leave behind a legacy of faith. May we never underestimate the impact that one godly life can have on future generations.

El Almuerzo del Día del Padre de hoy en Valley Life Church fue un tiempo especial y memorable de compañerismo, ánimo y desafío espiritual, mientras hombres de toda nuestra familia de la iglesia se reunieron de 11:00 a. m. a 2:00 p. m. para celebrar el Día del Padre.

Aunque disfrutamos de una excelente comida y una maravillosa convivencia, el verdadero punto culminante de la tarde fue el poderoso testimonio y mensaje compartido por el Pastor Mike Lasky. Basándose en las experiencias de su propia vida, el Pastor Mike nos llevó a través de un recorrido por su infancia, la historia de su familia, su llamado al ministerio y las muchas maneras en que Dios ha dirigido fielmente su vida a lo largo de los años.

El Pastor Mike compartió cómo llegó a conocer a Jesucristo siendo un niño y cómo el Señor comenzó a moldear su vida mucho antes de que él comprendiera todo lo que Dios tenía preparado para él. Habló de su crecimiento en una granja en Illinois, de las responsabilidades que aprendió desde temprana edad, del trabajo junto a sus abuelos y de la influencia de hombres piadosos que despertaron en él un profundo deseo por las cosas de Dios. A través de historia tras historia, demostró el principio bíblico de que “el hierro con hierro se afila”, recordándonos que Dios suele usar a hombres y mujeres fieles para influenciar a las futuras generaciones de maneras que quizás nunca lleguen a comprender completamente.

Uno de los momentos más conmovedores ocurrió cuando el Pastor Mike habló de su abuelo: un hombre amoroso, respetado y temeroso de Dios que no puso su fe en Jesucristo hasta los 63 años de edad, apenas dos años antes de su fallecimiento. Ese testimonio sirvió como un poderoso recordatorio de que la salvación no se trata de tradición religiosa, asistencia a la iglesia o simplemente de ser una buena persona. Se trata de experimentar el poder transformador de Jesucristo. Nadie está fuera del alcance de la gracia de Dios, y nunca es demasiado tarde para responder a Su llamado.

A lo largo del mensaje, el Pastor Mike enfatizó lo que llamó “El Factor Jesús”. Nos recordó que el cristianismo no se trata simplemente de reformación, sino de transformación. Jesús no vino solamente para hacernos mejores personas; vino para hacernos nuevas criaturas. Por medio de Cristo, los corazones son renovados, las vidas son redirigidas y las personas son transformadas. El Pastor Mike compartió cómo recibir el bautismo en el Espíritu Santo siendo un joven marcó un punto decisivo en su caminar espiritual, brindándole una mayor comprensión del propósito de Dios, una fe más valiente y una visión más clara de su llamado.

El desafío para los hombres presentes fue tan sencillo como profundo: tener hambre de Dios, obedecer Su voz, buscar la santidad, anhelar la plenitud del Espíritu Santo y rodearse de influencias piadosas que fortalezcan su caminar con Cristo. El Pastor Mike nos recordó que nuestro mayor legado no será medido por lo que poseemos, los cargos que ocupamos o los logros que alcanzamos. Nuestro mayor legado será la fe que transmitamos a nuestros hijos, nietos, familiares y a todos aquellos cuyas vidas podamos impactar.

Al concluir el mensaje, hombres en todo el salón respondieron al llamado de Dios, poniéndose de pie en oración y comprometiéndose a profundizar su relación con Cristo. Fue un momento hermoso y poderoso mientras los hombres oraban juntos, se animaban mutuamente y buscaban al Señor para recibir una dirección renovada y una pasión espiritual fresca.

Estamos agradecidos con el Pastor Mike por compartir su corazón y décadas de sabiduría con nosotros. También agradecemos a cada voluntario que ayudó a preparar, servir y hacer posible este evento.

Al celebrar este fin de semana del Día del Padre, que todos recordemos que el mundo necesita desesperadamente hombres que amen a Dios, lideren con humildad, sirvan con integridad y dejen un legado de fe. Que nunca subestimemos el impacto que una sola vida rendida a Cristo puede tener sobre las generaciones futuras.

What a blessing it was to gather together this morning and be reminded that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church. Everything we do as believers and as a church family should point back to Him. It is not about our plans, our preferences, or our agendas—it is about seeking His will and bringing Him glory.

As Pastor shared this morning, when Christ is truly at the center, our hearts become aligned with His purpose, our lives are strengthened by His Word, and our church becomes a powerful witness of His grace and love.

We would love to invite everyone back tonight at 6:00 PM for a beautiful evening of Worship and Prayer. There is no better way to end the Lord's Day than by gathering together to seek God's presence, lift our voices in praise, and unite our hearts in prayer.

Whether you joined us this morning or have not been able to attend recently, there is a place for you. Come expecting God to move, to encourage, and to refresh your spirit. Let us gather as one church family under the leadership of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

¡Qué bendición fue reunirnos esta mañana y recordar que Jesucristo es la Cabeza de la Iglesia! Todo lo que hacemos como creyentes y como familia de la iglesia debe señalar hacia Él. No se trata de nuestros planes, nuestras preferencias o nuestras agendas; se trata de buscar Su voluntad y darle toda la gloria.

Como nos recordó el Pastor esta mañana, cuando Cristo ocupa verdaderamente el centro de nuestras vidas, nuestros corazones se alinean con Su propósito, nuestras vidas son fortalecidas por Su Palabra y nuestra iglesia se convierte en un poderoso testimonio de Su gracia y amor.

“‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out My Spirit on all people.’” — Acts 2:17

This morning’s Pentecost Sunday service was a powerful reminder that the Church is not simply a building, denomination, or weekly gathering — it is the living body of Christ, united by His Spirit and called to love people well. Today’s message focused on the importance of community, service, and allowing the Holy Spirit to work through us to reach others with the love of Jesus.

We celebrated and honored the many faithful servants who help carry the mission of the church forward every single week. From worship teams and prayer warriors to youth leaders, children’s ministry workers, outreach teams, recovery ministries, volunteers, and pastors, every act of service matters in the Kingdom of God. Their dedication reflects the heart of the Gospel and reminds us that ministry is not about recognition, but about loving people the way Christ loves us.

One of the strongest themes from the sermon was that people matter deeply to God. Jesus consistently stopped for the hurting, the forgotten, the weary, and the brokenhearted. He saw value in every individual, and as followers of Christ, we are called to do the same. Romans 12:5 reminds us that “we are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.” The Church becomes strongest when we walk together in unity, humility, and compassion.

The message also challenged us not to remain spectators in our faith. We are called to actively pray together, worship together, serve together, and encourage one another through every season of life. Real love is demonstrated through patience, forgiveness, generosity, kindness, and faithful action. The Church thrives when people choose connection over isolation and service over comfort.

On this Pentecost Sunday, we reflected on the power of Acts 2 and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the early Church. Just as God moved then, He is still moving today. The Holy Spirit continues to empower believers to bring healing, restoration, encouragement, and hope to a world desperately searching for truth and peace. We were reminded that revival begins when God’s people surrender fully to Him and allow His Spirit to lead their lives.

This was also a beautiful combined service bringing together the English, Spanish, and Holtville expressions as one united church family worshiping together in God’s presence. What a blessing to see different backgrounds, generations, and communities joined together with one purpose: glorifying Jesus Christ.

We left encouraged, strengthened, and reminded that the Church is at its best when it reflects the heart of Jesus — loving sincerely, serving faithfully, and walking together in the power of the Holy Spirit.

El servicio de esta mañana de Domingo de Pentecostés fue un poderoso recordatorio de que la Iglesia no es simplemente un edificio, una denominación o una reunión semanal — es el cuerpo vivo de Cristo, unido por Su Espíritu y llamado a amar bien a las personas. El mensaje de hoy se enfocó en la importancia de la comunidad, el servicio y permitir que el Espíritu Santo obre a través de nosotros para alcanzar a otros con el amor de Jesús.

Celebramos y honramos a los muchos siervos fieles que ayudan a llevar adelante la misión de la iglesia cada semana. Desde los equipos de alabanza y guerreros de oración hasta líderes juveniles, trabajadores del ministerio infantil, equipos de alcance, ministerios de recuperación, voluntarios y pastores, cada acto de servicio tiene importancia en el Reino de Dios. Su dedicación refleja el corazón del Evangelio y nos recuerda que el ministerio no se trata de reconocimiento, sino de amar a las personas como Cristo nos ama.

Uno de los temas más fuertes del sermón fue que las personas son profundamente importantes para Dios. Jesús constantemente se detenía por los heridos, los olvidados, los cansados y los quebrantados de corazón. Él veía valor en cada individuo y, como seguidores de Cristo, somos llamados a hacer lo mismo. Romanos 12:5 nos recuerda que “nosotros, siendo muchos, somos un solo cuerpo en Cristo.” La Iglesia se fortalece cuando caminamos juntos en unidad, humildad y compasión.

El mensaje también nos desafió a no permanecer como espectadores en nuestra fe. Somos llamados a orar juntos, adorar juntos, servir juntos y animarnos mutuamente en cada temporada de la vida. El amor verdadero se demuestra a través de la paciencia, el perdón, la generosidad, la bondad y la acción fiel. La Iglesia prospera cuando las personas eligen la conexión sobre el aislamiento y el servicio sobre la comodidad.

En este Domingo de Pentecostés, reflexionamos sobre el poder de Hechos 2 y el derramamiento del Espíritu Santo sobre la iglesia primitiva. Así como Dios se movió entonces, Él sigue moviéndose hoy. El Espíritu Santo continúa capacitando a los creyentes para traer sanidad, restauración, ánimo y esperanza a un mundo que desesperadamente busca verdad y paz. Se nos recordó que el avivamiento comienza cuando el pueblo de Dios se rinde completamente a Él y permite que Su Espíritu dirija sus vidas.

Este también fue un hermoso servicio combinado que reunió a las expresiones en inglés, español y Holtville como una sola familia de iglesia adorando junta en la presencia de Dios. Qué bendición ver diferentes trasfondos, generaciones y comunidades unidas con un solo propósito: glorificar a Jesucristo.

Salimos animados, fortalecidos y recordando que la Iglesia está en su mejor momento cuando refleja el corazón de Jesús — amando sinceramente, sirviendo fielmente y caminando juntos en el poder del Espíritu Santo.
