The Season of Creation is here! It is a time for Christians around the world to renew our relationship with God and all creation through prayer, celebration, and action. It begins today, September 1, and concludes October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of ecology. The tradition began in the Orthodox Church in 1989 and was expanded by the World Council of Churches into a month-long ecumenical season. Today, Christians around the world join together during this time to pray for and care for our common home. You can read more at www.seasonofcreation.org.

Our Knit for Kids group continues to create beautiful knitted and crocheted items to be delivered to a school in Tijuana, bringing warmth, comfort, and joy to young children.

Every stitch is an expression of care, generosity, and God's love in action. We're so grateful for the talented hands and compassionate hearts that make this ministry possible.

Interested in joining us? Our Knit for Kids group meets monthly, and there's always room for more helping hands!

Today we honor Juneteenth. On June 19, 1865, more than 250,000 enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free - more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been issued. Juneteenth commemorates this long-awaited announcement of freedom and has become a day of remembrance, celebration, and reflection. Juneteenth invites us to celebrate freedom, remember our history honestly, and continue pursuing the reconciliation, justice, and love to which God calls His people. May we be a community that listens, learns, laments where needed, celebrates God's faithfulness, and seeks to love our neighbors well.
